4ht of July is just about two weeks away, so now’s officially the time to start shopping for patriotic outfits! I found this adorable polka dot midi dress on Amazon back in April, but the second I put it on, I knew it’d make a perfect 4th of July outfit idea. I mean, it’s playful and feminine and the fabric is light and breathable– what else could you ask for while watching fireworks and eating barbecue? I’m also a shameless fan of flutter sleeves, tie waists (they do wonders your figure), and pockets, and this dress has all 3. I’m obviously partial to wearing it on Independence day, but this dress is actually pretty darn perfect for summer in general. Whether you’re going on a date, to a carnival or outdoor fair, or even to work, this versatile little number’s a seasonal staple for sure.

Oh, and if red’s not your color, it also comes in dark blue, too, along with a few other colors. Head to the bottom of this post for full outfit details!

No sundress is complete with an ultra wide brimmed sunhat, right? I bought this Out of Office hat for a cruise  4 or 5 years ago, but I still catch myself reaching for it whenever we travel. Not only is  it highly effective in blocking out the sun, it gets compliments everywhere I go. When I ordered, it was only available in a few different designs/sayings, but now you can completely customize your hat for weddings, bachelorette parties, or pretty much any event or occasion under the sun. Order yours here!

If this dress isn’t your style, I’m going to be rounding up more 4th of July outfit ideas (both dressy and casual) over the next few days, so stay tuned! In the meantime, you can check out previous years’ casual looks here and here. Have a wonderful week, y’all!

Thanks so much, Amber! I love the ruffled sleeves, too, and the red polka dot pattern feels like a fun cross between Audrey Hepburn and Lucille Ball– to me at least 🙂 Have a wonderful rest of your week!

      Best,
      Steph
