As a New England transplant, there is nothing I hate more than shaving. Thanks to the single-digit temperatures, my skin is already so dry and sensitive that even the nicest razor inevitably leaves a nasty trail of red bumps. They’re ugly, and they hurt. That said, I’ve always been curious about laser hair removal treatment, but given their cost and the need for ongoing sessions, I’ve never pulled the trigger. Fortunately for me and my dry, sensitive, and un-assimilated skin, I’ve recently found my new best friend, and her name is Silk’n. I wasn’t sure which product(s) to try first, but after reading some reviews, I decided to order the Flash&Go Express at home hair removal device. Keep reading for my full Silk’n Flash & Go Express review!
Silk’n Flash & Go Express Review
Generally speaking, the Silk’n Flash & Go Express is a light-based device for long-term hair removal that’s designed for at-home use. It’s cute, compact, and incredibly easy to use, which are three characteristics that make it an instant winner in my book. I’ve been using mine for the past month and a half and have made it through my first three treatments (they recommend doing treatments 1-4 two weeks apart). I’m not even halfway done, and I’m already so happy and excited by the results! The nerdy planner in me has already pre-scheduled all my remaining treatments in my Google calendar.
Now, first thing’s first– price. The Silk’n Flash & Go Express at-home hair removal device is an investment. It’s $299 at Nordstrom with free shipping. I’m a saver, so I’m not going to pretend that $300 isn’t a lot of money. It is significantly cheaper than professional hair removal treatments, though. It’s also super easy to use– not to mention significantly more fun than shaving.
Also, when I say it’s easy to use, I mean it’s ridiculously easy to use. The only things to be cognizant of are its warnings, which are plastered all over the user manual. For example, you shouldn’t use this at home hair removal device around or near your eyes. You can, however, use it from the cheekbones down to remove any unwanted facial hair.
You can use the Flash&Go at home hair removal device on your upper and lower legs, arms, and bikini line. I’m literally praying for the day when my nasty dark brown leg hairs are no more. Dudes can actually use it, too (just not on their face), which is fun! Kyle hasn’t started any of his treatments yet, but I’m excited to see how he likes it!
I also highly recommend pairing your at home hair removal treatments with candles, a bottle of champagne, and a face mask. The process can be a little time consuming, so it’s the perfect opportunity to give yourself a full-on at-home spa night.
Just the thought of being silky smooth and stubble free every day puts an enormous smile on my face. If you have any questions about my experience with the Silk’n Flash & Go Express, let me know! I’m more than happy to help!
Thanks for reading, y’all
No, it looks like a nice product but I’m more natural…lol My underarms and legs , whew!
I would give laser removal a try
And FYI the picture below of you in the teal shirt is gorgeous ????
This device sounds amazing! I really like it and would love to have one of these hair removing devices.
I am going to look into this to see if it is affordable for me. I have a lot of facial hair (mustache and full beard, as I like to call it) and it is the #1 thing about myself that I hate. I am morbidly obese (no joke) and in my mid-40s, but that facial hair is the #1 thing that embarrasses me in public. Plucking and tweezing and even trimming is laborious and I hate it when it comes back stiff and uglier than before. I would love to hear your experience with using it on your face. Thanks!
I have never tried laser hair removal.
I have always wanted to try laser hair removal! I love this product you can use in your own home. I look forward to reading more in future about your experience with it.
I have never had laser removal but I would like to give it a try.
I have always wanted to try hair laser removal but have been intimidated unsure of the process or how effective.
I have wanted to try laser hair removal for a long time. I Have Never tried it. If i didnt have to shave my legs for a while ,that would be great..
My daughter wants a hair removal system as she hates shaving! I’ve never tried one but with the coupon above, I’ll seriously consider getting her this product!
Sure! I don’t have excess hair that needs removed from anyplace, but the idea of not having to shave anymore is very appealing.
I’ve never tried laser treatment but I’ll really like to try it
I have fine hair and not much of it on my body so I’ve never considered Laser hair removal.
I have definitely considered using laser hair removal devices. Silk ‘n sounds good!
Wow this is incredible, I have always wanted to try laser hair removal this looks like a fabulous product to try. Love to be silky smooth & join the #NoShaveWave. Thank you for sharing.
I’m lucky I don’t have much hair and it grows slowly on my legs so I haven’t wanted to try laser hair removal!
Yes I thought about it, but have not yet.
I have thought about it, but not followed through, I think prices are fairly high at this point.
My ocd has me shaving everyday because I can not stand how hair on my legs feel. I have thought of investing in something of this nature however the last few I saw blogged about never had a follow up, that I saw anyway, saying how it worked. Thanks for a great post.
The wife would love this. 🙂 I’ll tell her about it.
I’d consider it but is it safe?
Surprisingly, yes! Plus, you can read the manual to make sure you’re completely prepped on the do’s and don’ts!
I don’t see why not, well I am little scared but still I would give it a try
It’s really not scary! I was a little intimidated at first, but my experience so far has been nothing but positive! 🙂
I think I would like to try it.
It’s now two years on from your original post. Did you continue to use the Silk’n? How were the results? I am interested in this however all reviews I can find are like yours, after a fairly short use. No long term reviews.
Hey Rachael! Great question. Unfortunately, I lost mine in our move to Columbia, so I haven’t used it at all in the past year. I did really enjoy my Silk’n, though. It worked well (especially for my bikini line) and was easy to use. I do recommend it, but I also suggest purchasing yours from a retailer with a more generous return policy, just in case it doesn’t work well for your particular hair/skin type. Hope that helps!
