Prior to my girls trip to Miami (recap here), I wouldn’t have been caught dead willingly wearing a maxi dress. I like them on other people, but I always get too hot for comfort in the Florida climate and feel insecure about my shortness due to a lack of added height (explained below). Seeing my gorgeous friend Christel rock a similar watercolor maxi dress, I fell in love… and then fate aligned, and I found this BB Dakota masterpiece. I’m hooked. My only complaint is that when flat-footed at 5’7″, the dress barely touches the floor, so there’s no way I could ever wear heels with it.
I purchased it on Wednesday and immediately wore this dress to the Wish Upon a Star fashion show, benefiting Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida, at Neiman Marcus Last Call on Thursday evening. Full outfit details at the bottom of this post.

OH, and who is excited about the launch of Lilly for Target tonight around midnight?! Set your alarms, ladies… it’s going to be a crazy day of shopping stampedes and internet crashing! Happy Weekend!
Oh my goodness, that dress is to die for! I love the way you styled it with that statement necklace. Absolutely stunning on you!

ps…love those colors!
Because they're SO comfortable! Usually (to me) the material looks cheap or is too heavy for Florida's heat, but once in a while I suppose we find gems! 🙂
you look stunning.
