I’ll be honest– my personal care MO is to get in and out of the bathroom as quickly as possible. I’m not the girl who wakes up early or stays up late to spend extra time pampering myself. Because of this, I find that I rarely make time for self-care, and that needs to change. So, to help transform the bathroom into a self-care oasis where I actually want to spend time, I’ve started experimenting with different products and methods to “beautify” bath time. Fortunately for my dry sensitive skin, I’ve found some good ones (Dove Body Wash Mousse With Coconut Oil is a serious game changer), and the timing couldn’t be more perfect considering the harsh seasonal transition. If you need some self-care inspiration this spring, keep reading for 5 of my best tips for taking bath time to the next level!
1. Set the Mood
There’s nothing worse than an interrupted spa experience. First and foremost, put your phone on silent and, if need be, hang a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the bathroom door. Next, create a relaxing environment by playing soft spa music, lighting sweet-smelling candles, and treating yourself to some fresh flowers and greenery.
2. Elevate Skincare to Self-Care
The winter-to-spring seasonal transition never does my skin any favors. I’ve tried so many products specifically formulated for dry and sensitive skin like mine, and none of them have measured up to new Dove Body Wash Mousse With Coconut Oil. I absolutely love this stuff. The formula is creamy, rich, and infused with essential coconut oil for instant nourishment, relief from that dreaded dry skin feel, and an overall softness that makes my generally tired, ashy skin feel like a million bucks. Plus, it smells like heaven, and it’s suitable for shaving, too, which I love. Look for it next time you’re in CVS– just one smell, and you’ll be hooked.

Now’s the time to try them, too, since you can find major savings on these gems at CVS right now. From March 17th through the 23rd, if you buy 2, you’ll get the 3rd free. Pretty sweet deal!
3. Create Your Own Luxurious Bath Soak
Plain water may feel relaxing, but adding in an ingredient or two can take your bath to the next level. I personally love Epsom salt for soothing achy muscles and essential oils (lavender and eucalyptus are my favorites) for relaxing aromatherapy. I also love getting creative and throwing in some fresh fruit slices, flowers, and greenery into the mix. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing and, more specifically, Instagram-friendly, they smell delicious and offer an array of health and beauty benefits.
4. Invest in a Bath Caddy
I never knew what all the fuss was about until I actually purchased a bath caddy. From holding up books and iPads to securing candles and glasses of wine, a durable bath caddy is a must-have for saving space and avoiding alcoholic and/or electronic disasters.
5. Don’t Rush It
You deserve quality “me time.” Instead of rushing through your beautiful bath time experience, carve out a set block of your schedule to indulge. As unnatural as it may feel at first, disconnecting from every day life (social media in particular) can be so therapeutic. For 2-3 hours every week, trade in your smart phone for a book. Practice self-care by painting your nails or dreaming up a new bucket list. Forget your problems and let the stress fade away by staying present in the moment. Just do what you need to do to feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to conquer the day/week/season ahead.
From skincare to aromatherapy to wine, head to CVS for even more ways to beautify bath time! Also, don’t forget that now through March 23rd, select Dove products, including my favorite Dove Body Wash Mousse With Coconut Oil, are buy 2, get the 3rd free!
