Tale as old as time. If you haven’t gone out to see the new Beauty and the Beast yet, you’re seriously missing out. Kyle and I opted for a Hump Day morning matinee (like the old people we are), and I haven’t stopped singing its soundtrack since. Aside from less than stellar vocals, Emma Watson was a vision as Belle. Even though I play Sleeping Beauty at a charity event called the Princess Ball every year, watching Beauty and the Beast reignited my desire to become an every day Disney princess. So naturally, when I saw this ladylike, Belle inspired cocktail dress, which features a gorgeous rose print, chic neck tie detailing with a partial button placket, and three quarter sleeves, I knew I had to have it.
At $74, this Belle inspired cocktail dress is a bit outside my normal $25-$50 price range, but I bought it during Shopbop’s Buy More, Save More sale (and I love Beauty and the Beast), so it’s justified. It can be dressed up with heels for virtually any nighttime occasion or dressed down with flats for brunch, class, you name it. I styled this particular look for dinner at the Dry Dock Grill in Long Boat Key with Ashley Brooke, her husband Ryan, and my own personal beast/prince, Kyle. It was surprisingly cold by the water, and this Belle inspired cocktail dress did a fine job of keeping me warm with its lined skirt and longer sleeves. I ordered an XS and am 5’7″, and although it could be taken in by an inch or so in the waist, it fits rather perfectly otherwise. Head to the bottom of this post for full outfit details!
Have you seen the new Beauty and the Beast movie yet? What did you think? If you haven’t, I won’t say anything to spoil the experience for you. What I will say is that Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, and Ian McKellen are perfect. That is all. Happy Hump Day, y’all!
