This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Panasonic Beauty. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have a lot of hair. When I was in college, it took me 30+ minutes to dry my hair most mornings. Thankfully, I’ve gotten it down to a 10-minute science over the years, but after having to chop half of it off…multiple times, I’ve learned that hair health is just as important as efficiency. I’ve tried dozens of styling tools to see which ones actually succeed at merging the two (health + efficiency) and just found a new hair dryer that I absolutely love– the Panasonic nanoe Hair Dryer. Honestly, I’m already a huge fan of the Panasonic nanoe™ flat iron (read my review here), so as soon as I saw it Target, I figured it could be my Christmas present to myself this year. I try really hard to not buy for myself in December, but an upgrade was long overdue.
Besides already loving Panasonic’s nanoe™ technology, it was all the talk about infusing hair with moisture that sold me. I mean, a blow dryer that dries hair without drying it out is every woman’s dream, right?! The Panasonic nanoe™ Hair Dryer uses a unique technology that takes moisture from the air to create tiny, moisture-rich nanoe™ particles that are small enough to penetrate the shafts of your hair. These nanoe particles hold nearly 1,000 times more moisture than regular ions and are infused into the blowdrying process. This, in turn, helps keep hair hydrated. In layman’s terms, the Panasonic nanoe™ hair dryer infuses hair with moisture while blow drying. The results? Smoother, shinier hair that’s less prone to damage from brushing!
The Panasonic nanoe™ hair dryer comes with three attachments, too– a Quick-Dry Nozzle, Concentrator Nozzle, and Diffuser. When I’m in a hurry or when I’m doing a normal, every-day at home blowout, I stick with the Quick-Dry Nozzle. When I want a salon-quality, pageant-style blowout, I use the Diffuser attachment.
My 10-Minute At Home Blowout Routine
Full disclosure– there’s no bells or whistles to this 10-minute at home blowout routine. I just know that a lot of women have questions about the “right” way to blow dry their hair, so I wanted to share some of my tried-and-true tips from my pageant days in today’s post. If you’re looking for an every-day blow dry with some added volume (not a salon-quality blowout, y’all– we’re keeping this to 10 minutes), keep reading!
First, start with mostly dry hair (Step 1). I let my hair partially air dry while I get dressed and do my skin and makeup routines. For reference, if you can squeeze any water off your ends with a towel, it’s not dry enough. Then, grab your favorite lightweight root-lifting spray or mousse (Step 2). I use this religiously because it helps keep my naturally stick-straight hair from looking completely flat. Apply it generously, making sure that you aren’t ignoring any particular section (Step 3). For reference, you can see that the root lifter kind of resembles foamy corn rows in my hair. That’s how much I apply. Finally, use both hands to massage it into your roots (Step 4).
Then, using medium heat on high speed (there are 3 temperature and 2 speeds settings available), start to blow your hair dry with the Panasonic nanoe™ Hair Dryer (Steps 5-6). In my experience, it’s the best blow dryer for natural hair, thick hair, and/or frizzy hair (ie. hair like mine). Also, even when I’m in a rush, I shy away from the highest heat setting to avoid unnecessary hair damage.
Once my hair is around 90-95% dry, I use a vented brush to tame frizz and cut down on remaining dry time (Step 7). Blow until completely dry, and boom– you’re done (Step 8)! You can quickly run a straightener through your hair to tame extra frizz, but I’ve never needed to. It legitimately makes my hair smooth and shiny on its own!
This routine takes me less than 10 minutes in the morning, and I absolutely love how shiny and soft my hair is afterwards! I said it earlier, but having the hair type I have, I think the Panasonic nanoe™ Hair Dryer is the best blow dryer for natural hair, thick hair, and frizzy hair. Seriously, it’s unheard of for me to not need a straightener and/or globs of frizz-taming styling products after a blowout. I can’t recommend this blow dryer enough!
