My love of plaid seriously makes me rethink my awkward middle school years when I dreaded a daily Catholic school dress code. This blazer and black plaid skirt combo looks strikingly similar to my Lake Highland Prep middle school uniform, which I never thought would eventually become a trendy, classic ensemble, but hey– life is full of surprises. I was originally going to pair this skirt with my black plaid peacoat for a Cher Horowitz type motif, but I opted to use them as separates instead. Plus, there’s always Halloween. The skirt is a bit short for work, but the tights remove the possibility of an excessive (ie. tawdry) amount of skin showing, which makes it professionally appropriate in my book.     I adore this look, I never went to a school with a uniform so I didn’t have the chance to hate it. You look stunning and straight out of Gossip Girl!
