Holy cow, Washington DC is freezing right about now. S and I went to church and did some exploring in Georgetown this afternoon, and I did not prepare my petite Florida body for single-digit daytime temperatures. Luckily, I packed this burgundy ruffle coat from SheIn in my oversized suitcase, so I’ve already gotten a lot of unanticipated use out of its warm and cozy fabric. It’s made of polyester, but it feels like a fleece blanket, and the dramatic collar keeps your neck warm even on the windiest, most frigid days. Full outfit details, including where you can find this gorgeous new Vera Bradley bag (how obsessed are you with their new look?!) are listed at the bottom of the post. Oh, and I’d like to say thank you again to my fabulous BFF S for developing frost bite to snap these photos! You da you da best.

In case you can’t tell, we opted for a change of scenery mid photoshoot, and Grace Church of Georgetown served as an absolutely stunning backdrop. If you’re in the area and need to shoot some pictures, I highly recommend this spot! It’s very quaint and private, yet it still showcases the stunning outdoor architecture which characterizes busy downtown DC.

I’m now accepting prayers that I don’t freeze to death before making it back to Florida. Fingers crossed! Oh, and who could forget? Happy Valentine’s Day!

I currently live in Virginia, so I’m used to the freezing temps, but you make the cold look like a piece of cake! I love your red coat against your all black outfit.
