These peanut butter and pumpkin dog treats are grain free, gluten free, and downright delicious to dogs!
2 1/2 cups coconut flour
3 tablespoons peanut butter
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Whisk together the coconut flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon.
Roll the dough until it’s 1/2-inch-thick and cut into 1/2-inch pieces.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray a pet-safe non-stick spray and evenly space out treats.
Bake for 40 minutes or until completely hard. Store in an airtight container or in the freezer.
Great tip for making the dough: Add water one tablespoon at a time to help make the dough pliable, but keep in mind that the dough should be dry and stiff. If the dough is too sticky, gradually add more apple flour one tablespoon at a time.
It’s important that the treats are completely dried out after baking, otherwise they can start to mold in a few days.
