Quite honestly, every time I put on an outfit, I’d like to resemble one of two famous fashion icons: Audrey Hepburn or Jackie O. As of lately, the first word that comes to peoples’ minds when describing my style is “conservative,” which I believe has a negative and/or grandma-esque connotation. Since when did classic style and elegance become not the norm? Shouldn’t girls, younger ones in particular, strive to be beautiful and attractive without outwardly exposing their body parts with booty shorts and sheer crop tops?
I’m not hating on our generation or anything; I just wish preppy and conservative weren’t looked at in the style light as boring. Ergo, for my 4th of July OOTD, I decided to rock a Jackie O-inspired, custom-made, navy vintage poplin dress from eShakti with red heels, signature circle glasses, and patriotic bold bangles. My dress is fabulous, and I’m completely covered. Conservative win.
