Happy Labor Day, y’all! Since today is meant to honor the American labor movement and all of its contributions to the well being of our nation, I hope you fit some quality R&R into your schedule. In the spirit of patriotism, I want to briefly touch on one of my favorite American style icons (and First Ladies), Miss Jackie O. Her impeccable style tactfully combined conservatism with fun pops of color and accessories, like her trademark rounded sunglasses. Oh, and who could forget her layers upon layers of pearls? As soon as I saw this bow-neck ponte dress, I knew it had Jackie O sheath dress written all over it. Its sheath fit, which essentially means it’s tailored through the chest, waist, and hips, is super comfy and uber flattering. It also hits right above the knee, which makes it significantly easier to move around in.
I paired this Jackie O sheath dress with another one of the former First Lady’s favorite garments– a matching tweed blazer. Unfortunately, this exact Americana style is out of stock, but I’ve linked some similar styles below. Keep scrolling for full outfit details, as well!
Seriously, how darling is this bow-neck detailing? It’s such a fun way to dress up an otherwise traditional red work dress. Again, this is why I consider this to be a quintessential Jackie O sheath dress. Jackie O’s outfits were never boring. From the bold color to the bow detail, this dress isn’t either.
Shop the Look: Jackie O Sheath Dress, $128 (temporarily on sale for 40% off through Labor Day (price not marked) and also available in black) | Tweed Jacket (old; similar styles linked here [more expensive] and here [more affordable]) | White Heels, $72 (currently 40% off) | Tory Burch Satchel, $495 (exact style no longer available; very similar style linked) | Pearl Studs, $9 | MAC ‘Habanero’ Red Lipstick, $21
