Sweater vests are all the rage, and not just for dorks like me. They add a preppy touch of class to an otherwise basic work or school ensemble. They also provide an additional essential layer of warmth for Floridians displaced in Maine– also like me. While all my friends back home complain of 95 degree heat stroke, I’m shivering my face off in literally freezing temperatures by Kyle’s family’s wood stove. Anyway, in my go-to All American fashion, I paired this J.Crew Factory navy sweater vest with a striped oxford and red pencil skirt, all of which I picked up during my last trip to the Freeport outlets.
If you’re not a pencil skirt kind of girl, I’ve paired this same sweater vest-oxford combo with jeans (red, white, or blue) and tall boots for an equally sophisticated, casual look. If you are a pencil skirt kind of girl and you love this bright cerise color, I was just sent an incredibly generous display of MAC’s new Liptensity lipstick collection (full review to come), and I’m wearing Habanero, which matches my skirt pretty darn perfectly, if I do say so myself. Head to the bottom of this post for full outfit details!
