If I’m being totally honest with you guys (and myself), I love Kate Spade, but her clothing is ex-pen-sive. It’s so cute, and I know it’s well made… but I just can’t. Becoming an Eschenroeder has made me too frugal. I can, however, proudly buy Kate Spade-inspired outfits, which is why I wanted to share this adorable bow skirt, this gold sequin cocktail dress, and a few other preppy holiday finds with y’all in today’s post! What I love about most of these pieces is that they’re so classic that you can wear them comfortably year-round, not just in December. Most of them are from Amazon, too (with one exception), so they’re ultra budget-friendly. Keep reading for five Kate-Spade-inspired preppy Christmas outfits!
Preppy Christmas Outfits | 1-5
1. Kate Spade-Inspired Red Bow Skirt
This red bow skirt is absolutely darling, perfect for the holidays (including Valentine’s Day!), and currently under $25! It also comes in 7 colors, three of which I own (the pink’s up next, spoiler alert). I’m curious to hear which color– red or pink– y’all like more!
If you want to go pure holiday, I think the red’s the way to go! It’s so festive and vibrant, and it looks adorable and classy with any solid white or black top or sweater. Y’all know that love cozy oversized sweaters, but honestly, they don’t work well with this skirt. The excess fabric covers the bow, and it still looks cute– but it doesn’t have that same Kate Spade vibe.
Also, for reference, it runs large, so size down if you can. I’m wearing a 2/4, and it’s pretty roomy.
Side Note: I have to humblebrag really quick. I’m normally a total sucker for dog bows (this Etsy shop is the absolute cutest), but I couldn’t get them in time for Christmas, so I ran to Hobby Lobby and bought two cheerleaders’ bows instead. I replaced the hair tie with a smaller piece of elastic to fit around Nala’s collar, and it turned out perfect!
Click to Shop: Red Bow Skirt (Size down if you can– it runs a little large. I’m wearing a 2/4, and it’s roomy. I’ll probably eventually have it taken it) | White Cross Wrap Top (fits TTS- I’m wearing an XS) | Red Block Heel Sandals (fit TTS– I’m normally a 7.5, and I’m wearing a 7.5) | Gold Geometric Hoop Earrings | Gold Smile Pendant Necklace
2. Kate Spade-Inspired Pink Bow Skirt
For year-round wear, I think I’m partial to the pink bow skirt. It’s perfect for Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, anytime during spring, cocktail parties, birthdays– everything. It also looks super cute with solid white, black, and navy tops (see it styled in a try-on haul here). And, I mean… it’s pink. Can’t get much more Kate Spade than that.
Again, for reference, this bow skirt does run large, so size down if you can. I’m wearing a 2/4, and it’s roomy.

3. Half-Collar Pencil Dress
I absolutely love the vintage style of this half-collar pencil dress! It’s so classic– you’d never know this dress was under $40. Probably my favorite thing about it, though, is that it’s not just a perfect candidate for what to wear to a holiday work party, but it’s also a perfect candidate for what to wear to any work party year-round. It’s also incredibly flattering and comes in over a dozen colors.
For reference, I’m wearing a size small, and this color is dark green.

4. Kate Spade-Inspired Sequin Mini Dress
Sparkly cocktail dresses are a Kate Spade signature staple. After all, she’s the one who coined the phrase, “She leaves a little sparkle everywhere she goes.” As adorable as her glittery dresses are, though, they’re way out of the average woman’s price range (so much so that you can often find them for rent on Rent the Runway), so I’m excited that I found this affordable gold sequin mini dress on Amazon! It comes in 9 different colors, including some fun ombre options, and it’s under $40.
For reference, I’m wearing a small, and it’s tight where it needs to be but loose enough that I don’t need special shapewear. That being said, if you prefer a tighter fit, definitely size down. If you like more of an oversized look, size up.
Side Note: If you love refreshing sparkling cocktails, check out my go-to elderflower French 75 recipe! It’s made with St. Germain instead of simple syrup, and it’s amazing.

5. Black Shift Dress and Tie-Neck Chiffon Blouse
Of all the preppy Christmas outfits, this one just may be my favorite. This dress-over-shirt combo is originally from Lauren James (check out the full holiday party outfit post), but they stopped making dresses about a year ago. And, as a result, this exact shift dress and exact chiffon blouse are no longer available. Fortunately, though, Amazon rocks, so I was able to find nearly-identical versions for significantly less.
Also, these pointed toe bow pumps are one of my all-time favorite shoe purchases! I found them on JustFab about five years ago, but there’s a super similar version available on Amazon right now. I also found a similarly adorable pair of black pointed toe bow flats for under $30!

So… which of these preppy Christmas outfits is your favorite? The sequin cocktail dress? The pink or red bow skirt? Also, would it be crazy to buy the green bow skirt, too? Asking for a friend.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions about fit or quality in the comments. I love hearing from you guys (especially around the holidays), and I’m happy to help!
