My family thinks that my obsession with plaid is borderline unhealthy. What can I say? I’m just mad for plaid, which is a far less severe and neurotic-sounding condition than plain old obsession. Yes, a quarter of my closet is reserved for flannels shirts, and yes, I can’t think of a particular plaid color combination that I don’t own off the top of my head, but I just simply adore the comfort, versatility, and seasonality that plaid adds to any classic fall wardrobe. During my last trip to Target of the day on Friday (yes, sometimes I make multiple Target runs), I had some extra time to peruse their Halloween section and new fall styles. I also noticed that LISTERINE®, my mouthwash lifesaver since I started experiencing painful sporadic teeth sensitivity about six months ago, has taken its awesomeness to a new level through a partnership with Target’s Mad for Plaid collection.
Yes, it’s happening. Limited-edition bottles of LISTERINE® outfitted in 4 different shades of plaid are available now through October 31st. I snapped a shot of the Target endcap where I found mine, so y’all can reference it at the very bottom of this post. Needless to say, this discovery prompted a “Mad for Plaid” outfit recap. I picked 3 of my favorite looks from last year and rounded them up for an impromptu plaid madness fall fashion round-up.
I love riding boots and puffer vests as much as I love plaid, so this outfit, which I labeled the sassy Paul Bunyan, popped into my mind first. I’m patiently waiting for Florida to cool down just a few more (20+) degrees, so I can wear this red and black gingham combo comfortably without humidity making me hate my life. See the full outfit here.
Blanket scarves are my spirit animal. An adorable scarf that can transform into a warm blanket in a bind is both fashionable and handy. I love this look because it screams seasonality, and the pops of rich red and green in the tartan plaid pattern make me smile. See full outfit details here.
As I mentioned before, plaid’s versatility makes it an acceptable option for both work and leisure. Sharp-looking businessmen can rock the heck out of a gingham plaid button-down shirt with a simple tie and some black pants. Women can, too, but we also have the luxury of show stopping in plaid skirts, like my favorite professional investment of all of last year, this tartan J. Crew pencil skirt. You can find full outfit here.
So yes, for all my fellow mad-for-plaid-ers, we finally have the mouthwash to match! LISTERINE® can help you achieve better oral health while adding a signature look to your sink. I don’t want to sound like your hygienist, but brushing alone misses 75% of your mouth, so it’s critical to floss daily and rinse twice-a-day with a therapeutic mouthwash like, LISTERINE® Antiseptic, to achieve superior oral health. My long battle with eating disorders has done major damage to my teeth, gums… well, the list continues. By choosing to use LISTERINE® Antiseptic twice daily, I know I’m cleaning virtually 100% of my mouth, achieving up to 5 times healthier gums within 2 weeks, and reaching up to 9 times healthier gums in 4 weeks. If that’s not comfort, I don’t know what is.
LISTERINE® Antiseptic is also the world’s #1 dentist-recommended brand counter antimicrobial mouthwash and carries the coveted American Dental Association (ADA) seal of acceptance. Plus, it’s reasonably priced, and if you use Cartwheel (if you don’t you should sign up immediately), you’ll receive 10% off each bottle through October 31st.
So now y’all know plaid is my fall fashion wardrobe staple. What’s yours?
