Hey, Batter Batter: Tampa Bay Rays MLB Opening Day Fashion

As a shameless baseball multi-player(ex)girlfriend, I’ve been to my fair share of baseball games over the past few years. In fact, I actually threw the Ceremonial First Pitch for the Tampa Bay Rays last year, which was pretty dang awesome. To remember that special time, you can either click here to watch my epic form in full motion or just soak in my MLB Opening Day fashion-inspired outfit from Fanatics. Even with MLB Opening Day games popping up throughout the country, trying to find cute athletic accessories is still a struggle. No, generic sporting goods stores, girls don’t only want jerseys and baseball hats when it comes to showing their MLB allegiance. Fanatics, which is actually the largest retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise, has the cutest assortment of jewelry, ribbons, clothing, and memorabilia, and I’ll admit; I got a little crazy shopping their site, and I hope my friends will enjoy their early Christmas presents. Fanatics offers hundreds of thousands of officially licensed items for all major professional sports leagues, like the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, PGA… you get it. Full outfit details at the bottom of this post.
Oh, and yes– that is absolutely my almighty Tampa Bay Rays Ceremonial First Pitch ball, and I’ll never let anyone pry it from my powerful Kung Fu grip. My favorite player, Wil Meyes, caught it (well actually, he didn’t catch it cause I’m a pitching boss), so it’s embedded with his scent and DNA and stuff.
I feel like it goes without saying that functional drink ware is imperative for any baseball fan. You need to keep your drink cool, since outdoor fields can get pretty darn hot, especially in the south. I love my new Rays insulated cooler, which hugs both cans and bottles in Tampa Bay style.
Annnd then there’s this ribbon. I don’t care how old {or hot} I get, a pretty ribbon will always win over a hat or fancy hair pin any day of the week. Don’t worry, there’s a whole stash on the Fanatics website, and they’re all under $10.
And in case you were wondering why I opted for green pants instead of traditional white or blue jeans, I’ve decided to incorporate small {or large} pops of green into my daily wardrobe until the end of May. Why? To help raise awareness for Mental Health Awareness Month. I can’t stress enough how important it is to support this movement, no matter how subtle or secretive your contribution may be, and put an end to the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Also, in case I didn’t make my girl crush clear enough, I also had to have another Wil Meyers jersey. Yes, I know he was traded to the far inferior Padres or whatever— I don’t care. We had a connection on Tropicana Field, and he’ll always be my favorite Rays player. Some of his jerseys, like this one, are still available here, so our Tampa Bay Rays// Wil Meyers fan girling can live on!
So with the Tampa Bay Rays Opening Day upon us on this lovely Monday, I have to ask who y’all are rooting for this season? Any other MLB fans out there?
Go Rays!
