When I think of classic spring and summer prints, seersucker immediately comes to mind. Although it’s traditionally known for dressing men at southern weddings and Kentucky Derby parties (more on its history here), wearing seersucker has become a quintessential American past time, specifically among southern women. Not only is the thin puckered fabric breezy enough to beat the heat, but its clean stripes are crisp and fun and everything that categories the spring and summer seasons. So naturally, I immediately fell in love with this one shoulder seersucker peplum top. I’m picky about my peplum, too. I think so many peplum tops and dresses make women look (and more importantly feel) so much wider than they really are. This top, however, is super flattering, although it is rather tight in the bust area. I definitely recommend sizing up if you order online.
Also, can we talk about how happy I am that denim skirts are back in? They’re the ultimate summer bottom! This stretchy denim skirt from Target Style is under $25, and I’ve already bought it in a lighter denim shade, too. This particular one shoulder peplum top also looks great with a white skirt, white shorts, or white pants (assuming it’s not already too not for jeans). Head to the bottom of this post for full outfit details!
