Preppy New England-Inspired Fall Outfit Idea

Usually the first adjective my friends use to describe my style is preppy. As accurate as that may be in Florida, my long-earned label has been given a total run for its money up in New England. I mean, LL Bean’s headquarters, which should be help responsible for birthing my obsession with monograms in elementary school (you can’t go to prep school and not have a matching and monogrammed LL Bean lunchbox and backpack), are an hour away from our loft. You just can’t get much preppier than that. Drawing inspiration from some of the classic fashion I’ve seen since living in Maine, I styled my favorite dark wash flare jeans with a nautical striped turtleneck and white puffer vest.

This preppy fall outfit idea came to me during a recent shopping spree at the Freeport outlets. There’s an LL Bean, J. Crew Factory, Old Navy, and Ralph Lauren all within walking distance. Yikes. These are the same flare jeans I wore with this cozy jacquard cardigan last week, and I’ll say it again– they’re the best jeans I’ve purchased in a long time. For anyone with aspirations of magically growing taller overnight (like me), a pair of flare jeans may be your best bet. They do absolute wonders for your legs.
