Hallelujah! The Sunshine State has officially dipped in the 70s! Since Florida’s weather is finally starting to cool off, my beauty routine has changed quite a bit over the past few weeks. With the official start of winter right around the corner, I’m warding off chapped lips, dry skin, and lifeless everything as best I can. Here are my December beauty essentials for staying confident and– most importantly– photo ready throughout the holiday season:
Fire and foremost, yes, Burts Bees has a pumpkin spice-flavored chap stick, and it’s everything you dreamed it would be. Burt’s Bees Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Lip Balm, which is Available Only at Target, is infused with creamy pumpkin and a touch of spice, plus naturally conditioning beeswax and beneficial nutrients that leave your lips tasting delicious and feeling hydrated. It’s 100% natural, free of parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, and SLS, and it’s the perfect way to indulge those cold weather cravings and curb your PSL addiction simultaneously. I certainly wouldn’t mind getting a few more of these in my stocking this year (hi mom). Of course, Burt’s Bees® lip conditioners are available in a variety of other fun flavors, like their Limited Edition Mint Cocoa Lip Balm, which is also a Target exclusive. Just look for this aisle end cap for a full display of all their seasonal products:
Moving on to the rest of the list, for my skin, I rely on my Clarisonic brush daily to remove impurities and keep my acne-prone skin in check. When it needs a little something extra, I put on a GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment Mud Mask for about 10 minutes. While providing youth-boosting exfoliation and tighter pores, it gives skin a more vibrant appearance and absorbs impurities without removing natural oils, which is key during the drier months. The rest of my skin certainly isn’t immune to dryness either, so I rely on St. Ives Refresh & Revive Pear Nectar & Soy lotion to get me through the changing weather. Similarly to Burt’s Bees Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Lip Balm, St. Ives Refresh & Revive Pear Nectar & Soy Body Lotion is formulated to rejuvenate skin, made with 100% natural moisturizers, including pear extract and soy, making it the perfect match for any girl with unapologetically sensitive skin like mine.
It’s really tough to say for sure, but I’d bet my hair suffers the most during the colder seasons. I’m not dying it back and forth between blonde and brunette like I used to, but I’ve still got a lot of time and damage to make up for. Nexxus Humectress Conditioner is enriched with a Caviar Complex and 100% pure, concentrated Elastin Protein, and it works effortlessly to lock in nourishment and restore the protective barrier vital for stronger, prettier hair.
Once my skin is looking clear and youthful, I focus on enhancing it even more with makeup. Ever since the creation of It! Cosmetics’ CC cream, I refuse to wear standard foundation. Once Your Skin But Better CC+ Bronzer has set in and is blended flawlessly, primarily thanks to the Beauty Blender, I apply a light layer of It! Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder to eliminate any shine. This trifecta of secret makeup weapons will keep your skin looking young, happy, and healthy for the billion pictures you’ll be taking in the coming month. Also, everyone loves a good smoky eye, and December is the time to go big. Ever since I laid eyes on Urban Decay’s Naked Smoky eyeshadow palette, I knew it was meant to be. My only caveat is that the shades are quite pigmented, so make sure you’ve thought out an approach before slathering on product.
Of course, no girl feels completely confident without her signature fragrance. Personally, I alternate mine every season. I tried Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy in the store the other day and immediately purchased the largest bottle available. It smells like a fun mix of florals, fruit, and vanilla, and I get compliments every time I put it on– which is pretty much every day. If you’re on the hunt for a great transitional fall-to-winter fragrance, give Viva La Juicy a sniff.
What products are you loving this December?
I Want the newest Naked Palette so bad.
That Pumpkin Spice Burts Bees sounds right up my alley as well.
I’ve got to check out that chapstick! I’m a total junkie. I also want to check out that perfume, I love finding new favorites. That one sounds lovely!
I would be lost without my Naked Palette. I haven’t purchased a new one since I bought my original a few years ago, and I still use it daily! It’s such a reliable addition to my makeup arsenal.
Pumpkin spice chapstick! WHAT?! too cool! I love it already! The Nakd palette is absolutely amazing.. It’s part of my daily routine!

I’ve been meaning to give It Cosmetics as try for so long now, I need to finally break down. I love Burt’s Bees in the winter, definitely going to have to give the Pumpkin Spice flavor at try now. xx Merisa | Monogrammed Magnolias
