We could all use some quality “me time.” The more immersed we become in our work, the more difficult it is to prioritize self-care. This is especially true of professional women– even more so of those prone to anxiety or depression. To help promote the importance of enjoying quality “me” time, put together a DIY self-care gift basket for all your favorite ladies this year! The best thing about curating your own gift basket is that you can add and subtract essentials to fit the recipient’s needs, and you control the total price tag.
Self Care Gift Basket
Self-care gift ideas can range from mini bottles of champagne to fuzzy slippers. Honestly, they vary from woman to woman. If you’re having a tough time coming up with ideas, here are twelve self-care gift ideas to consider including in your own–
What to Include: 12 Self-Care Gift Ideas
First and foremost, very few lady bosses make time for the nail salon. Nothing feels quite as relaxing as a good, old-fashioned pedicure, so I love giving Amopé Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot Files as gifts. The extra coarse roller head has long-lasting, micro-abrasive particles that are now made with real diamond crystals. Plus, it’s available in pink (huge plus).
Since an ideal DIY self-care gift basket revolves around pampering and ways to practice self-love, include other nail care tools, as well. This includes nail polish, cuticle sticks, a manicure set, nail files, etc. I’m also a big advocate of relaxing bubble baths, so facial masks, bath fizzies, candles, and cozy slippers are great self care gift ideas, too. Depending on her lifestyle, a mini bottle of bubbly can also go a long way. Basically, any item that encourages self-love is fair game.
Lastly, one thing I learned while battling my eating disorder was to stop reading fashion magazines. They’re designed to make women feel inferior. In lieu of a magazine, help build up her confidence with an inspirational book. She and Brave Enough are two of my all-time favorites. These books are filled with short snippets of motivation that can completely turn your day around.
Where to Shop
Just about everything featured in this sample self-care gift basket can be found at Target. The Amopé Pedi Perfect can be a little tough to find, though. Head to Target’s foot care aisle, and you’ll see it on sale for $29.99. Actually, now through Christmas, you can save $10 off any Amopé Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File and $15 off any Amopé Wet and Dry Rechargeable Foot File, which costs $49.99, with this coupon.
Do you have any other self care gift ideas? I’d love to hear them in the comments! Also, has anyone tried the Amopé Pedi Perfect Wet and Dry Electronic Foot File? It’s waterproof, so you can tackle your dry feet and cracked heels in the shower or bath tub. I’m very curious, and I’d love to know your thoughts!
What a gorgeous display of the perfect items for her! Pampering items are things I love but rarely buy for myself so if I received a gift like this I would be so happy! I also have wanted the Pedi Perfect for ages!
Thanks, Joely! That’s exactly how I feel! I feel guilty buying these types of items for yourself, which is why they’re so meaningful (and appreciated) when they’re received as gifts. Oh, and if you ever get your hands on a Pedi Perfect, you’ll LOVE it! My feet have never felt better! 🙂
I love everything in this basket and would love to make this for myself! It’s so hard to take time for yourself and it’s something that I’m learning to do slowly.
Good for you, Cheryl! You deserve it! 🙂
I love giving gift baskets as gift ideas. Often times you can add things to the baskets that someone will find useful but not think of buying for themselves. This looks like one gift basket I would LOVE! I’ve wanted to try the Pedi Perfect for a while now, but haven’t thought to buy one for me, LOL 😉
This gift basket was designed as a gift for someone in need of quality “me time,” but you could totally make one for yourself, too! Why not treat yourself every once in a while?
I think as women we are always trying our best for everyone else in our life – our kids, our spouse, our friends and even our neighbors! How much time to we spend on ourselves? Not enough that is for sure! We need to have some me time every so often – even if it is not practical all the time!
Couldn’t agree more, Karissa! That’s why I love the idea of making a self-care gift basket for busy moms, overworked lady bosses– anyone who deserves some quality time to themselves!
Yes, I’ll take one of these gift baskets. Oh, wait, I am supposed to give it as a gift. I can do that, too! My mom and my sisters would all enjoy receiving one.
Ha, I love the idea of keeping one for yourself, Tami! Why not? I’d gladly accept one, too! 🙂
This is a great gift idea! I could use an Amope! As women living in a complex world playing different roles, treating oneself to a spa day is essential just to keep our sanity. When I worked in a busy financial office I had to have a massage at least twice a month.
Thanks, Gisele! Too funny– I used to work in a busy financial office, too, and I had the exact same arrangement. Two massages a month were the bare minimum! Even now, there’s still nothing like a nice spa day to myself. 🙂
Those do look like cool gifts to pamper someone with. I don’t think I could do all of these for my daughter especially the bubbly. But I think she would have fun with many of those things. She’s really love the slippers.
