Kyle and I spent last fall in Maine, so I had really low expectations for Missouri’s autumn weather and foliage situation. For reference, there’s an entire website dedicated to tracking Maine’s foliage… so, yeah. It’s hard to compete. Although the leaves are just now starting to turn, the weather has been incredible! It’s chilly but not cold enough to keep us inside. It dipped into the forties last week, so I finally got to bust out my new marigold scalloped coat. I fell in love with this affordable scalloped coat online, since a. it’s scalloped, b. it’s belted, and c. it’s marigold. That’s a recipe for a great fall coat if I’ve ever seen one.
Aside from its design, this belted scalloped coat is an all-around fabulous fall piece. It provides legitimate warmth, which is surprising for a $35 SheIn coat, but probably wouldn’t work in most winter climates. Plus, marigold (my newest color obsession) pairs well with virtually all autumnal hues, specifically navy. Keep reading for full outfit details, including pictures of my casual outfit underneath.
I’m kind of obsessed with the ruffle details on the striped knit top, so I wanted y’all to see it on, as well. Every other similar style I tried on has looked awkwardly boxy on my long torso, but this one is a keeper. It’s a little oversized, but it’s still flattering. This top also has the most adorable gold-tone buttons on the cuff. Plus, it’s currently 40% off and available in all sizes. For reference, I’m wearing an XS!
