Life can be demanding, and trying to balance healthy habits with a solid professional, social, and inner personal lifestyle is harder than it’s ever been. I’m not immune to late nights, early mornings, or unbalanced malnourishment, and my face punishes me on a monthly basis for not remembering to take better care of it. Even in my mid-to-late 20s, my skin is still excessively oily and acne-prone, so I’ve bounced from glycollic skincare lines to all-natural products to everything in between. The only remedy that continues to deliver results is two-fold: 1. Use the Clarisonic cleansing system twice a day and 2. Spot treat problem areas with an effective topical gel. After much product experimentation, I’m thrilled to say I finally found my solid 2nd solution in Shiseido IBUKI Multi Solution Gel.

IBUKI literally translates to “inner strength,” which I love, and its formula is specifically designed to enhance skin’s resistance to both internal and external factors. In layman’s terms, it’s designed to help skin quickly bounce back from skincare emergencies, like roughness, visible pores, and those oh-so-inconvenient breakouts– all without over drying my skin. To elaborate, I have extremely sensitive skin, as in constantly inflamed and comically intolerable of any harsh or retinol products, so the sheer fact that a salicylic acid acne treatment doesn’t irritate my face is unheard of.

I use the IBUKI Multi Solution Gel as the final step in my evening skincare routine. On work days, I use it directly over my makeup to keep any and all breakouts in check. Its consistency is light and gelatin-based, so it works well as an as-needed solution you can apply throughout the day. This stuff really has been the antidote for my most recent skincare emergencies, and I love it. Hence, I’ve teamed up with the incredible Shiseido team to give away a fabulous IBUKI gift package! Enter via the Gleam widget below now through Sunday, September 27th for a chance to win a full-sized Shiseido IBUKI Multi Solution Gel product, as well as an adorable red satin makeup bag, worth over $40.

My skincare secret for break-out emergencies is washing my face twice daily with a buf-puff and Purpose soap. It’s old-school but it works! I love that it exfoliates and keeps my pH in perfect balance. 🙂

I love anything by Shiseido so this sounds amazing! It’s funny (and I don’t want to write this down in case it all changes) I don’t really break out anymore. I used to have a huge acne issue but right now I get maybe one break out every few months or less…. No secret, I just have a really simple beauty routine.

I wash my face regardless but for emergency situations and other times I use sulfur/retinal/salicylic acid product that helps dry up blemishes. I consider everyday an emergency if I get a blemish.

TBH – concealer and not eating chips! Sometimes I use Pepto, but I think this Shiseido will be a much more elegant & proper delivery method of the salicylic acid!

I make sure to use some kind of toner (everyday breakout situations) or oxy pads (for super emergencies). I use a neautrogena toner with salicylic acid in it. that is the only thing that helps me 🙂

My skin is on the drier side so I don’t deal with breakouts too often, but when they happen I deal with them by not picking and covering carefully with concealer.

I like to use anitbacterial gel in a pinch. It cleans the area, removes extra oils and also has alcohol in it to help dry it out.
