My, oh my, how I miss dipping my feet in Kailua Bay to keep cool. Yes, Floridians have beaches, too, but they’re just not on Hawaii’s level. The only indisputably mutual trait of Florida and Hawaii is that, wherever you go in either state,  it’s warm. Since I was embarking on an exciting two-week adventure, I ended up checking a bag and basically buying all new products, ie creating a literal fresh start. In the midst of my shopping, I discovered a new fad called dry spray deodorants. These new Unilever dry sprays at Walmart go on instantly dry for a cleaner feel and 48 hours of wetness protection. With a 4.5 star rating (can you say legit?), Unilever dry sprays from Dove, Degree and AXE offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

I’m a Dove girl. Always have been. Probably always will be. I b-lined it to the Dove selection of dry sprays and, after an embarrassing 20+ minute inner debate in the middle of the very narrow Walmart beauty aisle, chose their new Cool Essentials scent. Praise the Lord I found these new Unilever dry sprays, because even though I should’ve known better– hello, weather reports, I refused to believe Hawaii could be as hot and/or humid as Florida in August. I was wrong. Very wrong.

The dry sprays go on instantly for an immediate hygiene boost, and the antiperspirant formula lasts up to 48 hours, which was perfect for me, since taking showers 3 times a day wasn’t permissable given my busy schedule. I had books to read, naps to take, acai bowls to demolish, and most importantly, rocks to climb.

I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy. I have two older brothers, so the intrinsic need to get dirty and climb all over things is ingrained in my soul. Hence, Dove dry spray saved the day pretty much every day, since the temperature didn’t drop below 85, and aside from some bands of hurricanes, the gorgeous Hawaiian sun beamed down like a heavy dose heaven 90% of the time. All of these stunning photographs were taken by the amazing Karen from Karen Loudon Photography.

As for my outfit, this fun asymmetrical handkerchief tank is from a cute boutique called Joy Luxe. The statement acid tassel drop earrings are from Bauble Bar, as are the majority of my arm candy. The white pants are a staple piece from my favorite designer, Lilly Pulitzer. The rest was purchased locally, which makes this outfit all the more special and authentic to me.

My Dove dry spray quickly stole a prime spot on my vanity tray, along with my new green turtle catchall from the famous Volcano House in Kona. No big deal or anything, but he’s made with Maui Clay and symbolizes wisdom and prosperity. With both my dry spray and Hawaiian sea turtle trinket nestled safely in my bathroom, I’m hoping that guarantees me the power of the turtle, bringing peace and a nice long life, and good hygiene.

And with days like these, who on earth wants to be thinking about BO when a dramatic oceanfront setting overlooking picturesque Kailua Bay should be consuming 100% of your mind, body, and soul. Answer: hopefully no one. Hyperhidrosis does exist, y’all.

Wow, I’m definitely going to have to try this out. It rarely gets below 90 here in Greenville, NC so I’m constantly sweating and feeling gross!
