Yes, I’m aware that my Derby Day outfit post is painfully belated, but better late than never, right? As tardy as it may be, I couldn’t resist showing off my adorable buttercup yellow dress from The Mint Julep Boutique. This year, I paired it with a traditional white fascinator hat instead of my go-to wide brim derby hat. Why would you choose a fascinator hat over a classic Derby hat, you may be wondering? My reasoning was three-fold: 1. Fascinator hats are cheaper, 2. Fascinator hats are more comfortable, and 3. Variety is the spice of life. Plus, the crisp white complimented my bright yellow dress flawlessly, so naturally I completed the outfit with additional white and gold accessories, like my staple wicker clutch from Talbots. It’s unfortunately still out of stock, but I’ve linked a similar style for anyone interested.

Oh, and then there’s these earrings. I started working at the brand spankin’ new Kendra Scott in Hyde Park a few weeks ago (so if you’re in the area, please come visit!), and my jaw dropped when I saw these Sayer earrings from Kendra’s newest summer collection. How stunning are they?! If this size is a bit too big for your taste, the Rogan earring is a smaller and more subtle version of my earring. Both styles come in gold, rose gold, and a Yurman-esque antique silver.

Love the yellow. One of my favorite colors for women . Turquoise is next in line.
