Christmas is not the time to let your fellow dinner partiers down by epically messing up a core recipe. Since I have about a 75% chance of producing an inedible outcome whenever heat is involved, I usually volunteer to make the playlist– or the occasional, simple Christmas snack. When I taught preschool, I created a Valentine’s Day trail mix for my kids, and they loved it– so I’ve adapted the “recipe” to honor Santa’s favorite animals. This simple Christmas snack, dubbed Reindeer Trail Mix, consists solely of Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish Grahams, Jet Puffed Peppermint Mallows, and White Peppermint M&Ms. Combine all three ingredients in a giant bowl, and it’s ready to serve! Easy, festive… and incredibly delicious.
Not only is this simple christmas snack great for kids, it makes a yummy treat for adults, as well. You can also sub in and sub out ingredients as you see fit. It’s almost impossible to make Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish Grahams taste bad, so the sky’s the limit.
I like to think that whatever I lack in domestic prowess, I make up for in sass. I’m also happy to report that I successfully executed this batch of delicious no-bake white chocolate peppermint truffles. As fancy as they sound/look, they’re also painfully easy to make! If anyone else has any fool-proof recipes for me to try, I’ll all ears! 8 days til Christmas!
I love this idea, going to make some tomorrow 🙂
