When I was really really tiny, my doctor basically ordered me to get bi-weekly massages to keep my muscles from cramping. Since I’ve been on the mend, pampering time hasn’t been something high on my priority list, although it totally should’ve been. In this day and age, taking time for yourself shouldn’t be considered a luxury; it’s a necessary component of good health and well being. Plus, nothing restores self harmony and re-energizes the mind, body, and spirit more than the words “deep tissue,” “body wrap,” and “Manicure-Pedicure retreat.” I was a patron of The Beauty Spot some years ago, but they relocated, and I never saw the gorgeous revamp their spa and boutique in College Park, primarily because I’m rarely in the area. I’m proud to say I’m finally back into the swing of things, and I have Jaime, my deep tissue masseuse, to thank for working the insane knots and toxins out of my body… just in time, too, since my weekend will consist of 2 photoshoots, 2 charity events, and a whole lot of writing crammed into 72 hours.
Since my stress level has been through the roof, I’ve committed to designating more detox time for myself, so The Beauty Spot is now an integral part of my monthly ritual. I signed up for their Essentials Spa Membership, which is $59.95 a month, where I receive either a one hour Massage, one hour Facial, or their “Best of Orlando” Manicure-Pedicure Retreat every month until I cancel. Plus, I receive generous discounts on all additional spa services, too, which is a pretty big plus.
Oh, and they’re not just a spa. The Beauty Spot is also a chic boutique, stocked with the latest beauty products, accessories, and clothing, in addition to being a full-service hair salon.
Plus, there’s a very zen Relaxation Room in the back with a handmade cloud for optimal anxiety alleviation.
If you’re in the area, you need to stop by and visit. I’ve never met a more friendly or knowledgeable staff of beauty experts! From the moment I walked in for a full facility tour to relaxing and chatting after my service, I felt at home. In fact, I could totally live in this adorable pink place– like Natalie Portman and Walmart in Where the Heart Is. Did I mention their beauty experts were super friendly? Can we all be best friends? Also, I would like this painting.
Thanks again, y’all, for an amazing evening. I’m looking forward to stalking y’all every month!
Is it Friday yet?
