A few weeks ago, my best friend Ashley Brooke mentioned Grove Collaborative in casual conversation. She said she was excited about getting a free seasonal Mrs. Meyers set and that I should look into… because, honestly, who doesn’t want peony-scented cleaning products? I wrote the name down but forgot about it for the most part. Then, I swear I’m not exaggerating– within a week I saw at least a dozen Facebook ads pop up. Call it fate, effective digital marketing, or Big Brother/Mark Zuckerberg listening in on my phone calls, but I had to try it. I clicked on this offer for a free Mrs. Myers Gift Set and placed my order that day. If you’ve been on the fence about joining– or if you’ve never heard of Grove Collaborative until now, I’m sharing my honest review and answering some common FAQs in today’s post!

What is Grove Collaborative?

Grove Collaborative is a customizable auto-shipment service that delivers all-natural home, beauty, and personal care products directly to your door. According to their About Us page, they exclusively sell products that are healthy, effective, eco-friendly, and affordable, so you know everything you buy from them is good for you, your family/pets, and the environment. You can also trust that you’re not overpaying for household essentials.

So… what does auto-shipment service mean exactly? After your first Grove box arrives, you’re automatically set up with personalized, scheduled Grove shipments, so, in theory, you’ll never run out of the products you love. By default orders come every month, but shipments are completely customizable, so you can edit the frequency of when products ship to you. Fortunately, you have complete control over which products you get and when you want to receive them, and all orders can be modified or postponed without penalty.

How do I sign up?

Click here to get started. As with any purchase, you need to enter in your credit card details to get your first Grove box. However, unless you “skip” your next auto shipment(s), which you can do here, you’ll be billed when they ship, as well. One of the things I appreciate, though, is that Grove sends you an email reminder beforehand, so they really do try and make sure you actually want the products before you get them.

Also, when you sign up, you’ll probably want to opt-in to their 60-day VIP trial. That means you get free shipping, you’re eligible for free full-sized gifts, and you get lower “ship now” order minimums ($15 instead of $30). After the 60 days, you can continue your VIP perks for $19.99/year or can cancel your VIP membership and “demote” yourself to the regular program before you get charged.

How do I get a free Grove Mrs. Meyers Gift Set?

I don’t like the word “free” here. Honestly, this is my biggest complaint about Grove Collaborative– nothing’s really free. Things are free with purchase. I believe I had to spend $15 in order to get my Mrs. Myers Gift Set, which includes a Mrs. Meyers Spring Trio, Grove Walnut Scrubber Sponges, and a 60-day VIP trial and wasn’t hard to do considering how much I already love the brands they sell. Also, keep in mind that you get to choose which of the Mrs. Meyers Spring Scents you want (mint, peony, or lilac), which is awesome. I’m a big fan of floral scents, so I went with Peony, and y’all…. these products smell amazing.

I looked at the Mrs. Myers Spring Scents reviews before finalizing my first order, and they were so overwhelmingly positive that I added Mrs. Myers Room Refresher in Peony to my cart, as well. Since getting my Grove box, I’ve legitimately been walking around looking for things to clean. That’s how much I love them.

What else did you get in your Grove box?

To meet my $15 order minimum, I purchased method Daily Shower Spray in Eucalyptus Mint, Mrs. Myers Room Refresher in Peony, and a Modern Stoneware Tray and Bubble Up Dish Soap Dispenser and Brush Set, both of which are shown below. Funnily enough, they weren’t kidding when they said VIP members are eligible for full-sized gifts, so I also received a free kitchen towel and cleaning caddy with my order. For reference, my total was $33.34… for 10 products. Not a bad deal!

Final Verdict– Is it worth the hype?

If you love green household, beauty, and personal care products, yes. It’s absolutely worth the hype, and it’s a fun way to try out new, child-safe and pet-friendly products without breaking the bank. Otherwise, this may just be another subscription service to you. Fortunately, Grove Collaborative is well reviewed pretty much everywhere, so if you do want to give them a try, you shouldn’t have any problems pausing or even cancelling your membership at any time.

Another thing worth noting– the shipping was crazy fast. I placed my first order at 3PM on a Monday and got my Grove box by noon on Tuesday. Also, I really appreciated how they secured every single product with tape to avoid spills during shipping.

So, yeah… I’m pretty hooked, and I don’t really have any intention of pausing my shipments anytime soon. If you’re already a member, what’s been your favorite purchase so far? I’m a big fan of my peony-scented Mrs. Myers Trio, but I also can’t get enough of the Bubble Up Dish Soap Dispenser and Brush Set! It looks so nice by my sink, and it really does save on soap!
