Who is excited about the premier of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II in– gasp— 2 days?!?! If the excessive punctuation marks aren’t enough of an indication, I am. The final film of the thrilling Hunger Games Trilogy is coming out on Friday, November 20th, and in preparation for its release, I hosted a Hunger Games movie marathon today to ensure my friends and I are up to speed on our Panem history.
In case you need a refresher on where we left off in Mockingjay Part 1, this is the sitch– Katniss has teamed with a group of her closest allies, including Gale (the gorgeous Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (the also gorgeous Sam Claflin), and Peeta (the sweet and gorgeous Josh Hutcherson), and embarks on a mission with the unit from District 13, as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow, who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and ethical choices that await Katniss in Mockingjay Part II will allegedly challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games, and I can’t wait to see what happens.
Ergo, I’ve planted myself on the world’s coziest couch, complete with Christmas pillows, fleece blankets, and a ton of kettle corn, alongside my favorites for a full-blown Hunger Games movie marathon. Yes, we plan on being those weirdos who patiently camp out in the movie theatre tomorrow night for the midnight premier.
Ashley Brooke and I even found these nifty Mockingjay pins. We’re nerds, we know.
I should also mention that I’ve had my theatre tickets for weeks. If you’re equally pro-Katniss and anti-Snow, I highly suggest re-watching the trailer below to amp yourself up and purchasing your Mockingjay Part II opening weekend tickets in advance, too. It’ll be a zoo at the ticket stands.
Last but not least, and in the spirit of democracy, Influence Central is hosting a Fandango giveaway! Enter to win one of five $100 Fandango gift cards to purchase your tickets– and concession stand sustenance— for Mockingjay Part II. The contest will run through November 22nd at midnight. Good luck!
Who else is excited?! May the odds be ever in your favor!
I actually haven’t seen any of the movies in the Hunger Games series! I really need to get caught up!
