This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Blink. As always, all opinions are all my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that make Diary of a Debutante possible!
After weeks of moving and furniture shopping, Kyle, Nala, Nellie and I are finally settled into our new home! It’s an old cottage in the heart of downtown Columbia, and it couldn’t be more perfect for us. It has original hardwood floors, a converted attic that we’ve turned into an office, and a spacious backyard for the pups. Basically, it’s our dream home… with one exception. We live on one of the busiest streets in town. I don’t mind the hustle and bustle of cars and bikers, but I’ve seen every episode of Forensic Files, and I’m not wild about the close proximity (and easy access) to, well, everyone. Just for peace of mind, I convinced Kyle that it was time to invest in a smart home security system. We sorted through thousands of online reviews and ended up going with Blink.
Blink Smart Home Security System is a discrete, wire-free system that sends motion-activated alerts and HD video straight to your smartphone. There are no contracts and no subscription fees, which were major pluses for us. They offer a few different options, but I knew I wanted a camera outside, so we went with the Blink XT One Camera System, which works both indoors and outdoors and has infrared night vision. Aesthetically, the Blink XT has absolutely no ugly conspicuous wires and includes batteries that last 2 years. It also has one of the simplest set-up processes I’ve ever seen. It took Kyle less than 5 minutes to get our Blink XT up and running. He just positioned it, downloaded the app, and immediately had access to live video surveillance of our front porch.
I’m a gadget nerd, and the Blink XT is seriously the coolest device ever, y’all. Whenever motion is detected, Blink records the activity it sees and saves it as a shareable video file. We’ve had issues with package theft in the past, so it’s particularly nice to know we’ll have it on camera when or if it happens again. It’s also nice to know we can monitor our house while we’re on vacation.
Another one of my favorite things about our Blink XT smart home security system is the app. It’s so easy to use. You can completely control your Blink system(s), watch both live and saved videos, and manage your account in one spot. You can also view live footage to see who’s at the door, monitor your pets, or check in on your kids in real time.
If you’re looking for an affordable smart home security system, I can’t recommend the Blink XT enough! I’m smitten so far, and I’m so grateful for the peace of mind it’s given me. Our one camera system cost $129.99, although there are several different options to meet your needs.
Have you jumped on the smart home security system bandwagon yet? If you have any questions at all, shoot me an email or leave me a comment. I’m more than happy to help!
