Now that I’m in my thirties, comfortable fashion really has become king. I’m way less into skin-tight bodycon dresses and jeans so tight you spend 15 minutes getting them over your hips and way more into all things relaxed and oversized. Enter: girlfriend jeans. I found this pair on Amazon and decided to give them a go, even though they’re definitely not my traditional cut of denim. Y’all… I’m obsessed. I don’t consider myself trendy, but this is a new style I can get behind. They’re comfy, surprisingly flattering (I personally thought they were going to look horrendous on me), and super easy to style. If you’re not sure how to wear girlfriend jeans, my go-to girlfriend jeans outfit involves a relaxed button down like this one and some block heel sandals. They look super cute with sneakers, graphic tees, and oversized sweaters (see them styled here), too, though!
So, what’s the difference between boyfriend and girlfriend jeans, you may be wondering? According to Denimology, the girlfriend jean is a more feminine version of the boyfriend jean, which make sense considering these are cute and boyfriend jeans look like a potato sack cut down the middle (on me, at least). More specifically, girlfriend jeans are fitted and sit higher on the hip with a slimmer, straighter leg. This particular pair comes in a handful of washes, but mine are Vintage Destructed. For reference, I’m wearing a 0/25, and they’re a little big. They’re comfy as all get-out, though, so I have no intention of exchanging for a smaller size. Head down to the bottom of this post for full girlfriend jeans outfit details!
Also, if you love comfy button downs, I highly recommend this Amazon Essentials shirt! I own it in 3 patterns (pink stripe, classic gingham, and french blue stripe) and love the relaxed fit. The material’s super lightweight, too, so it’s great for both winter and spring! For reference, I’m wearing a small, and it fits great.
Another one of my favorite recent Amazon Fashion finds is this pink resin apple watch band. It takes a standard smartwatch to a whole new level of chic– for under $25. My only caveat is that it’s hard to match your watch’s hardware (mine’s silver, for example) to the exact tone of the rose gold band. Two-tone jewelry doesn’t bother me in the slightest, though, so I have no complaints! For reference, mine is called Pink Texture.

Cute! I always wondered what the difference was! I’d give these a try as they are not as baggy as boyfriend jeans.
