The upcoming college football season is upon us! The 2013 SEC game schedule begins at the tail end of August, and I’m thrilled, especially since the US Open will be coming to an end at the exact same time. If you’re from the South, you know how fun college football can be, and it’s crucial that you look your best while tailgating and (most likely) sweating like cray and taking mass amounts of photos. It doesn’t matter if your team is a front runner ((or not–Go Knights!)), you get out there and show support for your team.
I’m so glad my lovely and extremely talented friend Kate (watch her new music video for “Caught in the Middle” on YouTube) told me about this adorable boutique company called Game Day Bows. One fabulously trendy lady and fellow UCF alum named Loren decided to create this business after becoming fed up with the inflated prices of tailgating dresses, which typically consist of patterned fabric, ruffles, and a giant colored bow. She decided to pull a dress from her closet and design the bow herself, thereby creating much more team-specific outfit variety without having to purchase tailgate-only dresses.
You can search for your school directly on their site or opt for one of their Special Edition bows for holidays, causes, etc. What I love about these bows, though, is that they’re really not limited to sporting events. I would easily add one to a work ensemble for a different and fun accent to an old outfit. Now, I’m a proud UCF Knight, so my 3 favorite bows are the black, gold, and –wild card–pink.
Game Day Bows are $25 each and are hand-crafted, 100% cotton, and made in the USA (obvs). You can also request special orders, just in case your school//cause aren’t currently represented, and every bow comes with a step-by-step tutorial on “How to Tie the Perfect Bow.” Ya, it’s safe to say that I’m obsessed.
I love these bows. I also the the dress and cowgirl books.

Oh, you don't even need a team, although I'd like to recommend UCF as a candidate for your support 🙂 I'm getting a black one for work; they're perfect for girlying up a standard professional ensemble. Happy Saturday!
