Digging through your closet trying to throw together some cute Memorial Day Weekend outfits? I’ve got you covered! The main thing to remember when choosing Memorial Day outfits is that it’s actually a really heavy holiday. Awesome lake parties and delicious barbecues aside, it’s a day intended for honoring and remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. While there’s no formal dress code, wearing red, white, or blue is always appropriate (and, in my opinion, warranted) for Memorial Day Weekend festivities. You don’t need to go full patriotic either– you can save your stretchy American flag shorts for the 4th. Just wear something comfortable that pays homage to our fallen heroes in your own unique way.

For me, this year’s Memorial Day outfit is all red and white– with a few pops of pink thrown in there, too. I bought this BB Dakota Lolita Top a few weekends back and honestly forgot about it until I started digging through the red section of my closet. I love the vibrant color, and the floral lace detail is gorgeously retro. If you have a long torso like me, the Lolita top is on the shorter side.
