I love Halloween, but I don’t love when Halloween makeup gives my skin a two-week-long rash. My face is just too sensitive to handle college face paint and cheap costume makeup. So, I only use tried-and-true products from my every day makeup stash to create my Halloween looks. Equally as important, I absolutely must use quality makeup removal products, like Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes and Neutrogena Ultra-Light Cleansing Oil, to ensure that all the grease, grime, and whatever else is removed from my face stat. Elsewise, I’ll have one nasty post-Halloween breakout on my hands.
When choosing my costume this year, I got a little nostalgic for last Halloween, when I sang the National Anthem on ice for the Orlando Solar Bears (recap here). In lieu of performing again on ice, I recreated this precious costume with a cute Minnie Mouse makeup tutorial. All you need are basic cosmetics, a good pair of false lashes, and a Minnie Mouse headband. Also, this $13 polka dot skirt doesn’t hurt either.
Minnie Mouse Makeup Tutorial
Start with a good base of foundation. The paler, the better for Minnie Mouse makeup.
Find a good bronzer/blush palette and generously apply pink blush, mixed evenly with highlighter and bronzer, to your cheekbones.
Use a dark black liner to line both lids of your eye. Extend the bottom lid line about two centimeters further and connect to the upper line for a dramatic cat eye.
Get a good pair of dramatic wispies and carefully apply a thin line of adhesive along the band. Apply and secure the lashes by pressing them onto the lash line. If you’re not a pro– or you lack steady hands, ask a friend or use the handy Ardell application kit to ensure you get the glue on your eyelid instead of inside your eye.
Next, line your lips with bright red lip liner to prevent nasty red feathering. My favorite is the MAC Cherry Lip Pencil. Apply a dramatic coat of red matte lipstick, like MAC Ruby Woo.
Last but not least, draw a small heart on the tip of your nose with black eyeliner to complete your Minnie Mouse makeup look. If you mess up the heart, either start over using Neutrogena makeup remover or just turn it into a circle.
Anyone who wears red lipstick and black liner on the reg knows how much of a pain they can be to remove. In order to avoid days of painful facial scrubbing, use a Neutrogena Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelette to effectively dissolve traces of dirt, oil, and makeup, including waterproof mascara, for clean, fresh skin in one step. The cloths are gentle enough to use around the eyes, and their superior formula removes even the most stubborn Halloween makeup.
To find these magic towelettes and cleaning oil, head to the Neutrogena section of the Walmart beauty aisle. With one quick swipe, they’ll leave your skin thoroughly clean with no heavy residue. No rinsing needed!
If you want to go one step further, like I always do when wearing anything more than CC cream, use Neutrogena Ultra-Light Cleaning Oil to completely cleanse your skin without any greasy residue. The lightweight formula, which is non-comedogenic, ophthalmologist-tested, and dermatologist-tested, contains a blend of fine oils that act like a magnet to effortlessly and effectively extract oil and impurities without over-drying or irritation. Plus, it smells like fruit, which is awesome.
To use, apply 3-4 pumps of Ultra-Light Cleaning Oil onto dry hands and gently smooth over your dry face. Massage the oil over the skin’s surface, including the eye area. Apply water to rinse and dissolve any excess makeup.
Simple, right? Plus, to complete the look, just add a fun top, polka dot skirt, and some Minnie ears. Easy peasy. What are your plans for Halloween?

I love how sweet, innocent, and classy this look is! My skin is also very sensitive, so I love knowing there’s an alternative to rubbing my skin raw and ending up with some angry skin in the days to follow Halloween. #client
So cute! That’s adorable. I’m doing an old fashion cartoon makeup look this Halloween, and Neutrogena wipes are my go-to! They’re the only ones that don’t make my eyes sting.

This is such a cute idea! Loving your makeup!!
I was Minnie too! I added whiskers because I felt like it needed it with the lack of extra blush and bronzer. I love my Neutrogena products! The best in the drugstore I think!!
