There are way too many opportunities for puns in this post, so I’m only going to intentionally make one– it’s no secret that I adore It Cosmetics. I got to meet the founder, Jamie, at a conference a few years ago, and I just fell in love with their team, their mission, and (most importantly) their products. As someone who suffers from acne, rosacea, and a slew of other non-ideal skin conditions (like Jamie), I respect so much that this line of cosmetics was developed with plastic surgeons and dermatologists to help women feel more confident regardless of their skin condition. Additionally, It products are clinically-tested and not tested on animals, which are two facts I wish I could say about all cosmetics brands.
Anyways, I’ve been a devoted fan for almost four years now. After trying just about every new product they’ve ever created (like ever), I’m finally rounding up my top ten must have It Cosmetics products for 2017! You can now find all the makeup I mention in this post at both Sephora and Ulta, which is pretty awesome! Oh, and I’m also giving away each one of these must have It Cosmetics products over the next four weeks. Hopefully, you’ll love them all as much as I do. Head down to the very bottom of this post for full contest details– and to see what’s up for grabs this week!
Must Have It Cosmetics Products: The Top Ten
1. Bye Bye Pores Primer, $38
I put this primer on before applying non-HD foundation or CC cream (usually coupled with Bye Bye Pores Finishing Powder), and my skin feels perfectly matte all day. Literally no other primer has ever done the same for me. I’m convinced Bye Bye Pores may be magic. The reviews are mixed, but coming from someone with oily acne-prone skin, this primer works wonders on me.
2. Confidence in a Compact with SPF 50+, $38
This anti-aging, full-coverage foundation with SPF 50+ physical sunscreen gives me perfect complexion in one step. Every time. I apply it with their Heavenly Skin Smoothing Complexion Brush, which is $48 on its own but you usually get for free from Ulta if you order additional It products.
3. Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Concealer, $24
This under eye concealer takes me from scary to presentable in the mornings. Just a little bit goes a long way, too, which is nice for such a small amount of product.
4. Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil, $24
I’ve tried filling in my eyebrows with both brow powder and brow pencils over the years. It takes a lot of finessing to hide the hideous eyebrow scar I got when I was 7. Hands down, this is my favorite product to use. It’s universal, so it works with any eyebrow colors (which is crazy to me), and there’s a spoolie brush on the other end for touch-ups and positioning.
5. Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Palette, $42
If you’re curious why I left any powders, blushes, and/or bronzers off this list, it’s because this palette has all three. I travel with my Complexion Perfection palette religiously, and time after time, it never lets me or my skin down. It’s technically worth $80, although it’s only $42, and it includes their Perfect Lighting Luminizer, Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder (a Godsend), Bye Bye Pores Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi, and Sunshine in a Compact Bronzer. For that price point, it also makes a pretty sweet gift, too!
6. Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment, $24
This color-infused balm provides hydration, revises you lips, and gives you a gorgeous naturally-flushed pink lip color. Why is this product different than other colored lip balms? It actually lasts all day… and it’s pretty enough for Instagram.
7. Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm, $38
If you’re tired of buying new makeup remover wipes every other week, this stuff will be your new best friend. About one teaspoon completely wipes away all your makeup and leaves you skin feeling amazingly clean and OMG so soft.
8. Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream, $48
I am very picky about my moisturizers–and pretty much everything else that goes on my face. Confidence in a Cream really is a wonder worker. Its formula targets fine lines, wrinkles, and dryness and works to restore skin’s firmness/elasticity. If you want younger looking skin, you need to at least try a sample of this stuff. In fact, you can get one for free at Sephora (one of the many reasons they’re the bomb.com).
Oh, and if you already love Confidence in a Cream, give Confidence in an Eye Cream a try! It’s formulated with caffeine (what?) and other skin-loving ingredients to make tired eyes look instantly more awake. I’ve been testing it out for the past few weeks, and so far I’m liking what I see.
9. Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara, $24
I was given a sample of this stuff at a different conference, and I sucked all the product I could out of its tiny little tube. For bold, rich lashes, this stuff is the best. It does clump, but I have smaller eyes and actually like when my lashes look a bit more dramatic.
10. It Brushes for Ulta Full-Size Travel Brush Set, $50
It Cosmetics made an exclusive makeup brush line just for Ulta, and I’ve yet to come across one that I don’t like and/or want to own immediately. Not only are their brush sets pretty (I mean, how cute is this metallic set?), but my current set actually makes me excited to put on makeup, which has literally never happened before. I refuse to use makeup brushes once they’re stiff; it makes me too paranoid about what kind of bacteria is being voluntarily painted on my face. So, to keep them nice and soft, I use It Cosmetics’ Brush Bath Purifying Brush Cleaner, which is $18 for a full-sized bottle. It’s worth every cent.
