I work 40+ hours as week as the Operations Manager of a financial firm, so for anyone who understands the pretension of my industry, I accept a notable amount of fashion discomfort in the name of professionalism. Don’t get me wrong; I love dressing up, but when I get to use my own discretion in selecting outfits, I’ll choose coziness and comfort over high fashion and fabulous any day of the week.

These glossy red Hunter boots were an early Christmas present to myself, since I knew I’d be foraging through snow in New York (trip recap here). You may ask, “What does a Florida girl need with glossy red Hunter boots?” Um, it rains, and it still gets somewhat cold, so I’ll be purchasing these boots in as many colors as I can. I’m obsessed– primarily because every other pair of rain boots I’ve ever owned has been a death sentence for my feet. These are more than just a fashion statement; they’re comfy and functional, too.

          Hi! 🙂 In full transparency, I work from home now, but when I worked in finance, I would’ve saved these for casual Friday. They’re also pretty warm– even without thermal liners, so keep that in mind, too. Hope that helps!
