Ashley Brooke, Mash Elle, and I flew into LAX for the GenBeauty by Ipsy conference (full recap to come) on Thursday evening, and I’m pleased to report that this trip somehow managed to top our near identical LA vacation almost exactly 3 years ago. 3 years older, 3 years cooler– I like to think. On the night of the inaugural cocktail party at ipsy Open Studio, we drove into Santa Monica a few hours early to play on the pier and watch the sunset. We stopped at our favorite local spot, Lemonade, for some liquid sustenance then headed to the beach for an impromptu picnic with a handful of my favorite grab & go snacks and the world’s most gorgeous view.

If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend spending a minimum of a few hours on the Santa Monica Pier, specifically during the sunset. Just be forewarned that all the locals are in really great shape and will likely be exercising vigorously while you sit, take pictures, and stuff your face.

Oh, and please don’t mind random mix of high quality images and iPhone photos; lugging around a DSLR while attempting to frolic in sand isn’t the easiest of tasks.

Random adventures with your girlfriends– particularly my girlfriends– are what keep us young, so never be afraid to unleash your inner 6-year-old.

Dinner was on me, and I only give my babes the best, so our romantic beach picnic consisted exclusively of lemonade and Almond Vanilla Latte Layered Nut Bars.

Sahale Snacks® just launched their new Sahale Snacks Layered Nut Bars, and the Almond Vanilla Latte Layered Nut Bar has completely elevated my standard of what snacking should be. A top layer of rich Madagascar vanilla is paired with espresso and crunch almonds, drizzled with real white chocolate, and then layered on top of creamy cashew butter to create one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. It’s a 200 calorie pick-me-up that satiates my sugar craving and makes me look forward to snack time every day. Plus, Sahale Snacks is committed to having a larger impact on the world, which makes me love them even more. They seek fair, sustainable business relationships that enable people to improve their lives as a result of working with them. If espresso isn’t your favorite, their Salted Caramel Apple Pecan Layered Nut Bar is equally scrumptious.
