As long as I’ve loved Lilly Pulitzer, which has been roughly 25 years, Spring has been my favorite season. The weather is perfect, white/lace/white lace are all the rage, soirées are a-swinging, champagne is a-flowin’, and your day is instantly brightened with pops of fun color, like over-sized swirl lollipops and gorgeous jewel headbands.

As for my makeup, I tried to keep my skin as natural and fresh as possible, so I went with MAC Prep + Prime BB Cream, MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation, and MAC Longwear Concealer. This trio provides the most amazing amount of natural-looking coverage without excess caking and shine.

 

For my eyes, I used Urban Decay’s Bootycall and Chopper shadows from the Naked II Palette, then lined my eyelids with black Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner. As always, I trusted Jordanna’s Best Lash Extreme Mascara for long and non-clumpy lashes. And for the very first time ever, I filled in my brows with the Sephora Collection Retractable Brow Pencil in Rich Chestnut. If you haven’t jumped on this bandwagon, do yourself a favor and color those babies in. It makes such a difference and really brings out your eyes, especially in photos.Lastly, my lips are lined with Jordana Easy Liner for Lips in Baby Berry, and I chose possibly the most fun color in MAC’s entire lipstick palette, Cremesheen Speed Dial, to achieve the brightest baby pink possible without having to add gloss. I’m not a big fan of gloss… it’s to sticky for my taste.

As for my hair, I used my handy dandy drybar 3-Day Bender 1.25″ Curling Iron and Money Maker Flexible Hold Hairspray. To add extra volume, I applied a liberal amount of drybar Southern Belle Voluming Mousse to my roots before curling, which did wonders for preserving my curls and volume in the midst of the burgeoning Florida humidity (yes, it has returned).Now, let’s talk about this regal headband… First of all, thank you, Shop Ban.do for sending me this perfectly preppy product to review. I’m obsessed. Secondly, the Crown Jewel Headband comes in two additional colors, Neon Yellow and Pink. Last but not least, this hair accessory is a dazzling 10mm metal plated headband, covered in beautifully colored crystals.  Based on the previous information, what’s not to love? It’s the perfect added adornment for asserting your princess status year-round. But seriously, if this isn’t specifically a spring essential, I just don’t know what is.

One of my favorite quotes is, “Always wear your invisible crown.” Typical beauty queen, right? Wrong. This is applicable to everyone. Although this headband is definitely not invisible, it’s a quick revival of your inner princess, if she just so happens to be hiding. Plus, check out all the super neat looks you can achieve with this versatile and downright gorgeous hair accessory. I channeled my inner Brady Bunch for you. Ya, you’re welcome.
