I hope everyone had an absolutely fabulous 4th! It was during the breathtaking firework show at Lake Eola that I teared up, loudly belted “Proud to be an American,” and realized how proud//lucky I am to be living in the USA. God bless this wonderful country, our freedom, and those who fight for it. The truth is, though, that we should not limit celebrating our patriotism to one or two days per year. We need to demonstrate our allegiance every day, remembering that we are so very blessed to be living in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. There is truly no other country like ours.

As far as 2013 goes, this holiday was one for the memory books, for sure. From fabulous friends to lake parties to fireworks galore, it was the best way to celebrate America’s birthday. Oh, and I further celebrated in the form of pecuniary pleasure…found some fabulous summer deals this week!

The Independence Day festivities began on Tuesday evening with a Cookie Baking Party for the Orlando Union Rescue Mission shelter. A bunch of my favorite fabulous ladies got together and baked over 250 cookies for their annual 4th of July party. Note: clandestine snacking may have been responsible for about 50 MIA cookies.

The patriotic celebrations were then followed by an amazing night with great friends at Red, Hot and Boom at Crane’s Roost. Around 10 bands started playing at 4 and continued until about 9 when the fireworks start. This year’s major headliners? The Jonas Brothers! Eee.

As you will see, we looked cute… until a torrential downpour and lack of shelter surprise attacked us mid-event.

The 4th of July started early, with a morning run, some major bargain shopping, and lunch at Pom Poms Teahouse & Sandwicheria. S bought us red, white, and blue star necklaces and rhinestone face tattoos, and I found two adorable white sundresses for the White Lake Party we attended at night. My gorgeous Sans Souci dress was a TJ Maxx find for $20. Cray!

Now for my favorite bargain of the weekend: my new beautiful brown leather Ralph Lauren bag ($130 on sale at Marshalls). Steal. Alert!

What did y’all do this weekend? Anything exciting?! I sincerely hope everyone else had a wonderful and family//friend-filled holiday weekend. Oh, and one final THANK YOU to the veterans and troops at home and abroad. You are truly heroes!

Ugh, that's lame! Luckily, they didn't start the fireworks until after the monsoon was over, so we witnessed the whole show (soaking wet). Hope you're having a great week!!

Looks like you had a great celebration for the 4th! Sparklers are always a must, and I love the facepainting. Awesome steal on that bag too.
