Planning a move is all fun and games until you actually have to execute. Kyle and I spent alllllll Fourth of July weekend moving into what’s gotta be the cutest little cottage in Columbia. I’m super excited to finally be in our new spot, but I’m completely drained. I haven’t started unpacking my closet yet, so I’ve been wearing this same plaid shirtdress outfit for the past week. It’s become one of my favorite summer garments, which is funny considering I would’ve previously labeled it a fall staple. Turns out, the question of how to wear a plaid shirtdress depends on the season. To make mine more summery, I traded in the my tall boots for Jack Rogers and a blanket scarf for a skinny belt. And voila– summer plaid!
I also love that this plaid shirtdress outfit can be dressed down (even more) for sports games, errands, and strenuous moving days. Just lose the belt and add some comfy sneakers and a baseball cap. It legitimately feels like you’re wearing a nightgown, but it still looks cute and put together. Plus, the fabric is super light and breathable. I believe this dress also comes in black, and I’ll be snagging that right after I pay off the damage from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in a few days. Head down to the bottom of this post for full outfit details!
By the way, if you’re ever in Columbia, Top Ten Wines is awesome. Kyle’s company took us here for drinks when we first visited the area. As avid wine drinkers, it’s been one of our favorite date night spots ever since. I was so happy when Catherine Rhodes suggested shooting here!
