Sometimes dressing for business cocktails can be tricky. Contrary to the occasion, it’s not really appropriate to wear a short, tight, stereotypical cocktail dress, but formal business attire looks just as out of place. In these types of dressy casual networking settings, I like to pair dark wash jeans or skinny black pants with a cute jacket or blazer, like this multicolored tweed jacket with an incredibly adorable tassel trim from SheInside. This particular coat costs only $38, which is super rare for a quality tweed garment, so if the fit isn’t complimentary to your shape, I recommend spending the extra $10-20 on custom tailoring like I did. It looks equally cute over a simple LBD for a classy date night vibe.

Happy Hump Day, y’all! This week has been particularly cold in Central Florida, so I’m finally getting good use out of my winter wear. At least that’s one very tiny positive consequence of our subzero temperatures.
You nailed it! Totally business appropriate and still chic!
xx, Elise
