Charity putt putt golf tournaments are basically the bomb. Not only do they involve the least serious form of possible competition, but you also get to joke around, eat food, and talk smack with all the other teams for the entire evening… all for charity. The Rotaract’s Road to Bay Hill Charity Putt Putt Golf Tournament, which benefitted Winnie Palmer’s Children’s Hospital, was held on Wednesday, February 26th at the Hawaiian Rumble Golf Course near Disney. I was invited to be on Team OCYR by the ever-so-kind Brian Empric, and since there was one extra spot available in our fivesome, I invited my super gorg friend Mash to play, as well. It’s a good thing, too, because she basically carried our team into
non-last place finish. Way to go, Mash!

I started off putting like a boss. I even got a hole-in-one my second round. Maybe I jinxed myself with excessive celebration because it was all downhill from there for Miss Tampa Bay USA. We ended up finishing in second-to-last place, and yeah, there were about 15 teams. 14th place for the win! Regardless, it was a ton of fun. I’m surprised the entire event didn’t get cancelled due to a permanent monsoon which seemed to be stagnant right on top of the golf course, and I’m going to blame the inclement weather on our sub-par scoring. We apparently don’t perform well soaking wet.
I hope to be a part of this event annually moving forward—it really was such a blast! If you ever have the opportunity to play in one, do it! There’s really not a more fun way to raise money for children in need. Next up is a real charity golf tournament, and my participation is still contingent upon actually learning how to play real golf. Gotta hit ’em straight and narrow (I heard that somewhere). We’ll just wait and see how that one goes.
What are y’all up to this weekend?! Happy Sunday!
