Since Miss Florida in July, I’ve taken a much needed hiatus from exercise. However, my body is reacting like a feisty hormonal teenager– tumescence, acne, and all,  so I’m trying to get back on track, especially now that I have 3 5K’s on the calendar over the next few months. I didn’t want to invest in a pedometer… and a heart rate monitor… and whatever fitness program I would’ve needed to download on my phone, so this seemed like a viable solution to my desired level of high efficiency, ie laziness.

I had heard about Fitbits before, but I was never drawn to their look. However, they just came out with the Fitbit Flex, which is a cute little bangle that comes in a variety of fun colors, like hot pink.

This pretty little bangle is a wireless activity and sleep wristband that tracks steps, distance, calories burned and active minutes, showing progress colorfully throughout the day with LED lights. The Fitbit Flex also monitors your sleep and wakes you up with a silent vibrating alarm. You can set goals, view progress, and earn badges as encouragement, which provides a surprisingly motivating incentive to meet your daily goals.

As for its durability, it’s rain-proof, splash-proof, and sweat-proof– if that tells you anything. Its rechargeable battery lasts up to 5 days on a full charge, and the Bluetooth 4.0 automatically syncs your data to your computer or other electronic device. Plus, to reiterate, it’s pretty stinkin’ cute, and my Fitbit Flex is the perfect pink addition to my standard work jewelry.

You can find these at Kohl’s for $100 (in store or online here), and it’s been the best fitness investment I’ve made all year. What programs do you use to track daily activity?

I'm think I'm going to cash in some survey points to buy one. I want the wrist band because I have had countless of clients and even my husband lose the little clip on gadget. Thanks for the review.
