I am literally ecstatic to report that I’m embarking on a 9-day wellness retreat in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on Sunday morning! Yes, this was a last-minute travel arrangement, and yes, I’m dreading the 15-hour travel time, yet I’ve never been this excited for a vacation in my life. As one of my very wise best friends told me, sometimes you just need to book it and go, even just to show yourself that you can. I’ve never been a risk taker, and I’m the opposite of spontaneous– 2 factual statements I’m adamant about retracting during my medically advised 5-week stress detox.

Aside from the scenic helicopter tours, luaus, snorkeling, and never-ending supply of Mai Tais, committing to this trip and its anxiety-free program also gave me an unofficial pass to assemble a revamped tropical wardrobe and crying-baby-proof stash of relaxing gizmos. Here are my essentials for guaranteeing a fabulous vacation in Hawaii. Click the image for item details.

Fingers crossed I make it there in one piece! Getting back/returning to normal life I don’t care so much about. What would be on your packing list for a stress-free vacation in Hawaii? Anything I missed?

Bossypants was such a great book! I really want one of those cute polaroid cameras. Hope you have an amazing time in Hawaii! I’m jealous.

I think your favourite part of the trip is probably shopping and packing before hand! haha

Have an awesome flight. My #1 trip for long haul flights is to drink a ridiculous amount of water. I like the Evian face spray and eye drops also. And I re-apply lotion 27 billion times.

I love you. Send me a postcard!

Those pineapple earrings are the cutest things in the entire world, along with the pineapple clutch! Have such an amazing time and I can’t wait to hopefully see some photos from your tip 🙂

Don’t forget books… for beachside and poolside reading. Light reading only! 😉 Also, if you can fit in some spa appointments… I fully support that too. My first (ever) spa day was in Hawaii – highly advise! 🙂
