The holidays don’t exactly facilitate clean eating, since carbs and sweets are running rampant at Christmas parties, holiday gatherings, and just about everywhere in between. I swear I’ve consumed more sugar in the past week alone than I have during the rest of the year. An easy solution to your tumescent regrets? Give your body a simple cleanse with some cinnamon apple pear fall detox water! I drink this fall detox water by the pitcher when I’m feeling blah, and it always helps to calm my stomach. All you need is some filtered water, one apple, one Bosc Pear, and two cinnamon sticks. As for types of apples, Fugi, Granny Smith, Red Delicious, and/or Honey Crisp are all good choices for apples that contain high levels of nutrients and pair deliciously with cinnamon, which has been used as a healing spice for centuries. If you can buy organic, it’s even better. Same thing goes for the pear, which is loaded with water-soluble fiber and antioxidants.
Another important thing to remember is the importance of knowing your water before you drink it, whether you’re using it for this fall detox water or not. KnowYourWater.com is a unique proprietary website that uses public water quality data received from the EPA to help educate consumers on the journey of water from source to treatment to tap, allowing us to easily and candidly learn what’s in our water. Apparently, when water leaves your city’s treatment facility, it has the opportunity to pick up contaminants along its path, which consequently brings contaminants to your faucet, which is something that personally grosses me out. Hence, I only drink water that’s been filtered through my PUR® Advanced Faucet Water Filter. PUR is dedicated now more than ever to giving consumers options to ensure they are drinking safer, cleaner water from their taps.
Call me a nerd, but I find it interesting that apples float and pears sink. Gotta love science!
