Happy Derby Day! Being that May 2nd is the only day it’s universally acceptable to wear this big of a hat, I look forward to the southern fashion fete all year. Since Florida doesn’t partake in any Churchill Downs-level horse racing, I head to Derby on Park every year. It’s a fun way to celebrate Derby Day fashion with a live broadcast of the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby and a bottomless supply of Mint Juleps. This year, it’ll be held at the Winter Park Country Club, and all proceeds from the event benefit the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
I’m going to be honest, my entire outfit was crafted around this gorgeous Eden floral and feather organza hat (update: it’s currently sold out, but I linked a similar style here that’s less than $25). I mean, Derby Day fashion isn’t Derby Day fashion if you don’t have difficulty seeing past the brim of your wide-rimmed hat. If you need help deciding what to wear to a Kentucky Derby party, keep reading for full details at the bottom of this post! In case you missed the post about my newly-developed obsession with Daniel Wellington watches (catch up here), be sure to use code STEPHANIEZA to receive 15% off your entire purchase on www.danielwellington.com now through May 31st! Their watches are timeless and worth every penny! I now own five, and I cycle through them all once a week.
Just an FYI, I’ll be rooting for Mr. Z— based solely off the fact that he’s pretty and shares my last initials. Who are y’all rooting for?
