Today’s post is all about one of the greatest culinary treasures in life– truffles. I’m not exactly a foodie, but I know good food. You can put truffle oil on virtually anything (popcorn, french fries, pizza) and magically make it taste ten times better. Needless to say, when I first heard about the concept of truffle oil beauty, my interest was immediately piqued. Many experts believe that truffles can give your skin the ability to repair itself and defend against damage in order to make your skin look, feel, and act younger. I’m only 29, but after recovering from my eating disorder a few years ago, my skin could easily pass for early-to-mid-40s. My hormones were thrown completely out of whack, and my skin paid the price. For personal reasons, I don’t get botox, so I’m always searching for natural methods for eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. That’s why black truffle skincare shot to the top of my “must try” list.
About a month ago, I was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of some truffle skin care products from Truffoire. They offer a few different specialized collections, but all Truffoire skin care products include truffles as the signature ingredient, and all their products concentrate on evening your skin tone and diminishing fine lines. I was drawn to the Black Truffle Collection, since A. black truffle oil is delicious and B. the terms “deep renewal” and “instant repair” jumped out at me. So, in today’s post, I’ll be reviewing the Black Truffle Vitamin C Cleanser, Black Truffle Deep Renewal Vitamin C Night Cream, Black Truffle Instant Repair Syringe, and Black Truffle Illuminating Facial and Eye Mask. I’ve been using these products exclusively for the past three weeks, and I’m super excited to share my results with y’all!
Truffoire Black Truffle Vitamin C Cleanser
I’ve had a few estheticians tell me that a good cleanser isn’t half as important as a good serum or night cream. That advice has been 1000% inaccurate for me personally. When I use ineffective or irritating cleansers, especially if I pair them with a cleansing brush, my skin gets itchy and breaks out like clockwork. That did not happen with Truffoire Black Truffle Vitamin C Cleanser. It’s a gel cleanser that’s designed to gently remove makeup and dirt. It lathers nicely and works well with a cleansing brush system. Not only does it smell divine, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft, even when I haven’t used a makeup remover beforehand. I usually have at least one hormonal breakout every month, and I haven’t seen a single cystic pimple since I started using the Black Truffle Vitamin C Cleanser. Needless to say, I’m pretty pleased with this product!
Truffoire Black Truffle Deep Renewal Vitamin C
Truffoire Black Truffle Deep Renewal Vitamin C night cream is amazing. That’s really the long and short of it. It’s formulated with black truffle extract, orange peel, and a handful of other hydrating ingredients that help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I apply it every night after I wash my face with my Black Truffle Vitamin C Cleanser, and my skin has literally never felt softer in the morning. Kyle’s even used it, too, and he’s made the same comment.
Just a tiny pump (less than dime-sized) is plenty, and it goes on very smooth. It has an oil-like consistency, and I usually have some left over for my neck after I’ve applied the product to my face. Black Truffle Deep Renewal Vitamin C also has a nice non-offensive scent, and you can feel the moisture and hydration as soon as you apply it. I’ve been using this night cream in combination with three other Truffoire skin care products daily. Truthfully, I can’t speak to its efficacy alone. However, I can say that I’m a big fan of this stuff and that I may need to start hiding it from Kyle.
Truffoire Black Truffle Instant Repair Syringe
In all honesty, the black truffle skincare product I was most excited to try was the Truffoire Black Truffle Instant Repair Syringe. It intimidated me a little bit at first, but it’s actually incredibly simple to use. No, there’s no needle. The syringe applicator just makes it easier to apply the Instant Repair product directly to wrinkles. Once applied, I use my finger to gently tap the solution onto the area of concern (almost always around my eyes) until it’s fully absorbed.
As far as efficacy goes, this product works, and it works FAST. Literally within seconds of applying the Instant Repair solution, you’ll feel your skin tighten, and you’ll see your fine lines and winkles diminishing in appearance. I noticed a difference right away, and things keep getting better with regular use. It’s amazing to me that a topical product can deliver the same types of results as invasive MedSpa procedures. My only caveat is to watch how much you use. If you use too much product, it can create a film on your skin that’s hard to blend out with makeup. I love this stuff, so I never want to risk having to wash it off in order to put makeup on.
My eyes are my problem areas, and I’ve been mostly applying the syringe to my crow’s feet. The area around my eyes is usually really sensitive, but so far I haven’t seen any irritation. I have, however, seen my those ugly little laugh lines become less and less noticeable! If you want to know how to get rid of crow’s feet without botox, this is your answer!
I’ve also been applying around my mouth and on my forehead a little bit, too. As far as natural anti-aging tools go, this is a must-try if you’re already into or are considering botox!
I’ve been using it every day (sometimes twice a day) for three weeks now, and I still see results with every use. I can’t see exactly how much is left in the tube, but it still feels relatively full. I’ll keep using this Black Truffle Instant Repair Syringe until the last drop!
Truffoire Black Truffle Illuminating Facial and Eye Mask
Truffoire’s Black Truffle Illuminating Facial and Eye Mask package comes with 14 facial masks and 12 eye masks. Just like the rest of the black truffle skincare line, these masks are formulated to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So far, the results have been absolutely amazing. I’ve started using an Illuminating Facial Mask every Sunday and an Illuminating Eye Mask every Wednesday. Per the instructions, I always apply to a clean face and then gently massage into my skin for a few seconds. I leave each mask on for a minimum of 15 minutes. If used at night, I follow with Black Truffle Deep Renewal Vitamin C night cream, and my skin is overloaded with soft truffle extract goodness. As a girl with acne-prone skin, I’ve always been told to not touch my face, but it’s seriously so hard after using one of these masks, y’all!
Also, I saw a tip on the Truffoire website to try refrigerating each mask overnight before use, so I tried that last week with my Illuminating Eye Mask. It definitely made the mask feel more effective, and the cooling sensation was absolutely incredible! It also noticeably brightened my skin tone. Needless to say, I’ll be putting in the fridge from now on!
The full facial mask can be a little tricky to get on right (at least for me!), but once it’s on and you’re relaxed, your face will feel ah-mazing after the suggested 15 minutes is up. Seriously, I never want to take my mask off. Afterwards, my skin is super soft, and it looks visibly refreshed,. Also, any traces of redness, puffiness, or under-eye bags are completely gone! I’m honestly upset I didn’t know about these while I was competing in pageants. With all the late night rehearsals and early morning interviews, these masks would be a lifesaver!
To sum everything up, it’s been three weeks of exclusive use of the Truffoire Black Collection, and I genuinely can’t remember a time when my skin felt better. It feels soft, looks refreshed, and has a noticeably more even skin tone. The most notable difference? My crow’s feet are becoming less and less noticeable. The most important difference? My confidence without makeup is the highest it’s been in years. I mean that. If you also shy away from invasive or painful skincare procedures, there are natural options out there. For starters, I definitely recommend taking a peek at this line… and at truffle skincare in general!
As someone who’s wary of botox, this experience has been absolutely eye-opening. I love knowing that natural anti-aging skincare isn’t a lost cause. I’m also super excited to see the results continue over the next few weeks!
Nala is, too! She may not get her own line of black truffle skincare products, but she does get to cuddle me.
I’m far from a truffle oil beauty expert, so to learn more about Truffoire and their products, be sure to check out their website and follow them on Facebook for research updates and new product info! Have you ever tried black truffle skincare or dabbled in truffle oil beauty? What was your verdict? I’m fascinated by this stuff, and I’d love to know about your experiences, too!
Today’s post is sponsored by Truffoire. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that make Diary of a Debutante possible!
This looks like a lovely skincare line. I am always looking to change up my skin care routine during spring. I gotta look into this one!
What an awesome review on these skin care products! I too was interested in the concept of truffle oil as it pertains to beauty products. I can see this as an alternative to getting botox injections.
Those under the eye mask is what I need the most. I hate my bags under my eyes. Even when I try to get sleep, I still have bags. I have tried so many facial masks and have yet to find one that has worked, so it is great to hear that you stuck with this for 3 weeks and really did notice a difference. On a side note, their packaging is extremely nice.
I have never heard of this skincare brand. I need to try it, it sounds amazing! Thanks for the great review!
Ohh, that looks like it really works. I would love to see how it would work with my skin. Thanks for the recco!
I’ve never heard of this brand, but it looks amazing. I am always looking for new skincare products to try, so I’ll have to check this out!
What is the “Volcanic Perfecting Cream?
Hi Diana! I’m definitely not a dermatology expert, but from what I’ve found on their website, it looks like it’s infused with black truffle (a staple for all Truffoire’s products) and volcanic water to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines. Sounds like an awesome product– I haven’t personally tried it yet, though!
Hope that helps! 🙂
Best,
Steph
Hi, Stephanie – I just got the black truffle repair syringe, and LOVE the immediate effects on my under-eye bags and crow’s feet — but when I tried to put makeup on (after it was dry, to correct my uneven color under my eyes) it seemsed to undo all of the tightening, and my makeup went on very unevenly. (I patted on a tiny bit of primer and then used my beautyblender sponge to very gently pat on the foundation). Any hints?
Hi Janice! I had this same issue, too, unfortunately. My first tip would be to apply the formula conservatively. A little goes a long way, and whenever I apply too much, it does exactly what you’re describing. Secondly, I dab on a tiny bit of moisturizing under-eye cream before applying any makeup to loosen the skin up a bit without completely undoing the tightening, and that does the trick for me. Let me know if you’re still having any issues– I’m happy to help! 🙂
Best,
Steph
I use Clinique liquid make up first and apply the black truffle repair on top of the make up, just pat it on top of the eye bags and let it dry, the bags vanish in a few minutes and the results are amazing.
Thanks so much for sharing, JoAnna! I’m gonna to try your technique tomorrow morning!
Today I started I using the black syringe cream under my eyes and it worked so good to get rid of my eye bags. The person I bought it from recommended to use it once a week at nightime, but I really need it at morning because it really make me feel younger instantly. I will start using it every day, even if it feels a little dry, but is worth it. Tomorrow I will try to start putting my clinique makeup first and then dab the cream to see if it looks better
The syringe is pricey, but sometimes we need to reward ourselves and give us a present like this for Christmas or as a Birthday present.
Totally agree, Maria! So glad you loved it, too– that syringe is a literal miracle worker for me!
It looks good and i need this kind of product for my self. Will try it!
