Christmas is too sparkly– said no one ever! One of my all-time favorite things to do during Christmastime is wrap presents. Not only is the spirit of giving contagious, I love getting to unleash my creativity on every package. This year, Kyle and I are giving gifts to a bunch of unrelated groups (our families, neighbors, and friends), so I thought it’d be fun to give each category a different theme. I’m sharing all four themes, plus a handful of elegant holiday gift wrap ideas, in today’s post!

The holiday season is the perfect time to seek out ways to make life better for those around us. No gift would be complete without the perfect card with a special note to make someone’s day. Maybe it was my southern upbringing, but I was taught at a very early age that the card is just as important as the gift. To accompany each theme, we spent hours picking out the perfect holiday cards for everyone in the card section at Target. You can see all the cutest holiday cards we snagged in this post, as well!

Elegant Holiday Gift Wrap Idea: Candy Cane Red

Kyle’s family is the definition of merry and bright! They’re fun, stylish, and would definitely be the ones having cocktails with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. So, I chose this candy cane meets Rudolph theme for their gifts. I used bright red gift boxes with gold trim, white wrapping paper, and a variety of different red ribbon.

If you like to get a bit more hands-on with your gift wrap, grab some colored pom-poms and hot glue them onto your wrapping paper. This looks adorable and adds a palpable layer of dedication to your gift wrapping.

Also fun tip– if you have any candy canes lying around, they make great gift toppers!

Elegant Holiday Gift Wrap Idea: Rustic and Minimalistic

You can’t go wrong with rustic minimalistic gift wrap. I have two older brothers and a dad who couldn’t care less about bows or shimmer, so this works perfectly for them. If you’re looking for gift wrapping ideas for husband or male relative, grab some plain white or brown wrapping paper and spruce it up with some leaves, eucalyptus sprigs, pine cones– basically anything that may be found in holiday potpourri. Use yarn or twine to secure everything in place.

I saw the idea for DIY wrapping paper on Pinterest, and I knew it had my mom written all over it. Pun intended. All you need to make your own wrapping paper is a thicker-tipped marker (preferably black, gold, or silver) and some solid-colored paper. After unrolling the paper into a flat canvas, write or draw any message you like!

Elegant Holiday Gift Wrap Idea: Glittery Gold

My girlfriends, on the other hand, love glitz and glamour. I wanted their gifts to look as chic as possible, so I went for a primarily gold and white theme. I used some glittery ornaments, monogrammed gift tags, and thick gold ribbon to wrap their presents. If you need some cute gift ideas for any of your BFFs, I’ve got you covered with these cute gifts under $25!

Elegant Holiday Gift Wrap Idea: Cheerfully Whimsical

For less personal gifts (neighbors, coworkers, and everyone in between), spread holiday cheer with a whimsical scheme. Pick fun berry clusters or festive floral picks out of old wreaths and attach them with simple ribbon to give each gift a different and distinct look. The more colorful things you can find, the better!

For a fun alternative to traditional gift toppers, use a greeting card instead! I found this gorgeous glittery Lovely Holiday Wishes card in the card aisle at Target, so I decided to use it as a gift topper! Super cute and super simple!
