It’s that time of year again, y’all! Lilly Pulitzer literally just announced the next After Party Sale, and I’m sharing all the details and FAQs in today’s post. If you’re a cult Lilly follower like me, you know that their summer sale is usually in early-to-mid August. I was beginning to wonder if they had cancelled it altogether, so I was super excited when I saw this fun confirmation on Twitter!
If you’re new to Lilly Pulitzer, you may be wondering what the fuss is all about. I mean, as much as I love a good Nordstrom sale, sometimes I wonder the same thing. The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale, however, only happens twice a year– once at the beginning of the year and once in the middle of the year. You may also notice that Lilly Pulitzer is no longer sold at mass retailers like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. That’s because Lilly only allows her items to be discounted during these two designated sale periods. Plus, the deals are huge, and hundreds of popular styles are up to 75% off. During past sales, I’ve picked up this top, these palazzo pants, this shirtdress, and this halter top, all of which are still closet staples.
Now, on to the FAQs–
When is the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale?
The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale will start online on September 10th around 8am EST and will end on September 12th at 11:59pm EST. The in-store sale starts September 8th-9th.
Is there a benefit to shopping in stores?
It’s always nice to be able to try on a product before you buy it, especially since sale items can’t be returned. However, from experience, inventory is very limited. The full sale inventory will be available online on the 10th, so it’s definitely worth checking out even if you shop in stores, too. Just be ready to weather the queue line!
Will Lilly Pulitzer restock items that sell out?
Major bummer on this front… unlike previous sales, Lilly Pulitzer will not be restocking any inventory this year. Once an item is sold out, it’s sold out for good. So, if you see something you love, grab it as soon as you can.
How can I prepare for the sale?
Get ready before the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale by preemptively creating an account on the Lilly Pulitzer website. If you already have an account, log in and make sure your shipping address, billing address, and credit card information are up to date.
What if the website crashes… again?
Girls like you and me go crazy for the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale– so much so that they have to implement a virtual queue line. The goal is to avoid a giant website crash, although it still manages to happen just about every time. My advice is to just be patient and remember that thousands of other Lilly lovers are experiencing the same frustration. Here are some tips to help make sure the process moves along swimmingly:
- Set an alarm for 8am EST on September 10th. Odds are that you won’t be able to shop the sale right away, so hop in the virtual queue line while you get ready for work/school.
- Once you’re in the virtual queue line, DO NOT REFRESH THE PAGE. This will reset your place in the queue. It’s happened to me, and it’s heartbreaking. So don’t.
- If you don’t have one already, create an account on the Lilly Pulitzer website. If you do have an account, make sure all your information (shipping address, billing address, and credit card information) is correct. This makes checkout a breeze.
Anything else I should know?
I add the same caveat every sale– remember that sale items cannot be returned or exchanged. I get it, the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale September 2018 is super exciting. Just remember to set a budget beforehand and stick to it, otherwise you may need to brush up on your Poshmark skills.
