I’ll just come right out and say it… I have a girl crush on Kate Middleton and borderline unhealthy obsession with everything she wears. Unfortunately, her royal wardrobe typically escapes my umbrella of affordability.  For this very reason, I’m always on the hunt for classic and regal fashion at normal person prices, and in this day and age, getting the look for less is rarely an easy feat without having to compromise on price and/or quality.

 

Well, I was recently turned on to searsStyle, and I’ll be honest… I haven’t given Sears more than a cursory glance in over ten years. My-oh-my, have things changed. They now carry a variety of inexpensive and well-known designers, including the Kardashian’s new line, and it’s now one of my regular shopping spots. Plus, you can create your own virtual catalog online  to piece together items to get the look of all your favorite fashion icons– like my girl K.

 

Kate Middleton’s signature style is the epitome of class and elegance. She exudes an effortless aura of conservative confidence, and she always looks clean, polished, and professional, which is how I was raised to dress (we’re two peas in a pod, Kate!). Her signature look consists of a well-tailored and barely-above-the-knee dress, classic collar, pleated fabric, statement pearls, and a British fascinator hat.

During a routine scouting venture at Sears in the quiet Oviedo Mall, I came across this gem of a dress from the Kardashian Kollection, which is fabulous. After browsing through a few Shop Your Way catalogs online, I knew I liked the Kardashian Kollection, but I had no idea I’d want to actually purchase so many of their clothes. I’m not a huge fan of their personal lives (ie. their TV show or anything else that they do), but these ladies have great style.

My eyes were drawn to the classic and crisp collar, since this
is a recognizable mark of the gorgeous Princess Kate. The pleats in the skirt instantly slim my waist, and the sheer chiffon sleeves add some sass to this otherwise modest dress. I accessorized my ensemble with white pearl studs, pearl and sapphire bracelets, nude pink pumps, and a pearl-studded flower headband I found in my closet, which resembles what I would consider the Americanized version of a British fascinator.

Kate Middleton’s outfits are never flashy, and neither is her hair or makeup. Henceforth, I went with loose flowing curls and non-shiny matte makeup. My lipstick is a glamorous pale pink (MAC Viva Glam V), and my eyes are finely lined with eyeliner.

    That outfit is very lovely – just like something Kate would wear. It's too cold to think about dresses for me, when the polar vortex leaves Northern Virginia i'll consider it. That dress is super affordable too – very awesome. Thanks for the recommendation Stephanie! -Iva
